Spyderco Wilson Southfork Micarta Plainedge Knife with Sheath

This is an excellent fillet knife and can do double duty as a kitchen pairing knife with easy. It's thin enough to slice efficiently, but still thick enough to inspire confidence with slightly heavier work, if necessary (cardboard cutting, shaving wood, etc). The sheath allows for both vertical and horizontal carry, and seems sturdy enough (Kydex). It's quickly become my favorite fishing knife, and as such, gets flying colors from me. As for materials, the -10 holds up well (easy to clean) and CPM S90V is an excellent stainless steel for this application. It holds an edge well enough that a strop on days of heavy use is all that it requires, and I've had no rust form on occasions when it has come in contact with salt water for a few minutes (I logically wipe and dry it soon after). The handle is clearly intended for easy of use when used for food prep (multiple holding options), and as such, is not intended for bushcraft. For what its meant to be, I'm very happy with it.

Yes, this was more expensive than I'm used to paying for a Spyderco. But, you do get what you pay for and this is one great knife. Razor sharp out of the box, great design and a very good sheath. Excellent steel and handle material that fits the hand very well. I've only used it for fishing but I have no doubts that it would make an excellent camp knife as well. The blade is a bit more stout than what I thought it would be but still works well for fishing related use.

The steel is awesome really holds an edge! Scale to Tang fit is precise and the fit of the handle is well sorted for a multitude of grips The sheath is accurate and not excessive and the adaptability is good.This is a great all-arounder, easy in the hand for small point oriented tasks but having enough Belly to take on skinning or more general cutting tasks.

This piece is typical of the Taichung Spydies, great fit/finish. The blade shape and size make for a great fisherman knife and the sheath also fits without issue.

I purchased the knife to use a field skinner and a backup blade for general camp utility. This knife is razor sharp, easy to maintain, S90V. Spyderco quality craftsmanship at its finest. only complaint is I wish the blade was about 6" (total blade length) for the utility aspect than for skinning and game processing.

Love this knife its a real slicer!

Worth every penny. Is even better than I expected. Im not one for a massively thick blade. This blade is perfect cuts so well, and I am not worried about breaking it as long as I use the right tool for the job. ie. Axe or saw.
