Water Alarm Sensor with 80dB Loud Sound WiFi Leak Detector, Overflow Leak Alarm, Remote Monitoring leaker for Water Heater Basement Sewage Pump, TUYA/Smart Life APP Notification

This was going to be used for a water heater downstairs. The alarm was sooo quiet that there’s no way we would heard it upstairs. Yes, perhaps the phone notification would have alerted my phone, but for the others in the house I would want them to hear the alarm for the quickest possible reaction to a leak.

I placed one these leak sensor near my sump pump... I program the features into Smart Things, for my bedroom lights to come on and a siren that was plugged into a smart outlet... That night, everything went off and I figured it had to be a malfunction... To my surprise, it was my sump pump that malfunction... This little $25.00 leak sensor, just saved me around $2,000 - $3,000... This thing actually paid for itself the very first day... My advice to any homeowners, buy them and save yourself some money... I have a lot more coming my way for dishwasher, sinks, bathrooms, water heater, laundry, etc. My sump pump was only one year old and I had no clue it would malfunction this soon...

Set it up, and although I didn’t expect it to go off, I had not hear anything after a couple months. So I went and tested to make sure it was still working and it wasn’t. It keeps disconnecting from Wi-Fi!!! There is great signal there, and all other smart home tech does not have this problem. Needless to say, if it’s disconnected the alarm will not notify your phone. So this is useless.If you get it, it does not have a very loud alarm. And is useless if it can’t stay on Wi-Fi. Would not recommend.

Three main issues with the product set up, noise level, NO NOTIFICATIONS.1) set up can be a pain if you don’t understand enough about your wifi network to set up/have a only 2.4 option, but once you get that figured out it works easy2) the actual noise that comes from the sensor is not loud at all and is not continuous like I expected it would be so if your not near by when it goes off you have no idea it’s wet3) you can not set up the app for push notifications to your phone if there is an alert, so I order to know you either have to constantly look at the device history in the app or you have to pay an extra fee to set up a text or phone call plan for the app to call or text you. Such a rip off considering the description of the device.At the end of the day the product does work, but it is not what I wanted at all and I will be returning.

I have placed the leak detectors in strategic places around my home. Thankfully I have not had a leak for them to detect. They are smaller than I imagined when I ordered them which is good because they fit everywhere I wanted them. The best part is, they give me piece of mind.

At first, the wifi setup was stubborn. I tried again the next day & it worked. go figure. Water alarms are nice & loud! text & email alerts are great! highly recommended for everyone to avoid water damage.

1. Sensor is not loud at all2. Alarm only goes off for a few seconds then stops.3. Does not support push notifications to the app.So unless you constantly check the app, you will never know if it’s seeing water. Might as well go check for leaks myself.

I don’t know if this is a good product or not because of the instructions. I am a pretty tech savvy individual, the basics plus. But the instructions that came with this item must have been printed on Mars, I couldn’t decipher some of the things they were trying to say. I gave it to my next-door neighbor and told him good luck.
