I found this book to be a really enjoyable read. It's beautifully illustrated and seems to be really tuned into how to strengthen your connection to your dog. I'd call it a pet owner's guide to animal psychology. I use the term pet owner because what makes the book so pleasant is the writing style. It's not written like an academic journal. Instead it comes across as being from a dog lover for other dog lovers.I found the book because People Magazine gave it a great review in their New Books column. I 100% agree.

We picked up this book because we were thinking about getting a puppy. It was a great primer and clearly and simply explained all of the different breeds, their popularity, character traits, etc. It touches on so many of the different things one might want to know about their furry friend. If you are looking at getting a dog, or if you already have one and just want to understand him or her better, this book is must!

I ordered this book on a Saturday and received and read it on Sunday. A Wonderful Book and a great resource. The writing is clear and dog pics are adorable. A lot of info in a fast reading book. If you like dogs, this is a good book to have and to show children.

I have 2 dogs and this book has really helped me understand them even more!
