Unique config. End-to-end:10.5" (27cm). Cord alone: 7.5". Poor product info wastes our time
I ordered, and am reviewing the "Letotech USB to Barrel Jack 5V DC Plug 5.5 mm/2.1mm Power Cable (Type N)" with ASIN: B07BGXZR62. Just don't believe the 'Type N' part, as Type N refers to a larger Inner Diameter than the title suggests, and that I received. Type N spec: OD: 5.5mm, ID:2.5mm. NOTE: I'm an absolute non-expert, but the Type M vs Type N info I had to verify before purchase. You can google it too. Oddly and confusingly, I still found more than one incorrect reference beyond this vendor's. Any true experts, or Letotech support themselves, please feel free to comment, and correct either me or your page.5 STARS FOR:- UNIQUELY SHORT CABLE: Offering one of only 2 or 3 options I found UNDER 12 INCHES for a "USB-A Male to DC 5.5mm/2.1mm Barrel Jack (center positive)" power cable, after searching a couple hours on Amazon and beyond. (Incomplete or contradictory info on product pages makes this task take longer than it should have to.)- UNIQUE RIGHT-ANGLE CONNECTORS: Offering the ONLY such cable I found, short or not, with Right-Angle L-connectors, ideal for my application.- IT WORKS FOR MY 3W APPLICATION: I'm strapping the base of a folding portable 3W LED lamp to the top of a 20k mAh UB battery pack, for long lasting freedom from a wall charger. Portability demanded that I not have the original 4 foot cable, coiled into an unwieldy bundle dangling off the back. Right-angle connectors let me send the extra cable loop off to one side, away from the remaining output and input ports on the battery pack, making access to those open ports much easier. This cable's USB connector conveniently points in the direction I want, so check that in the photo if it matters to you.SUBTRACT 1 STAR FOR WASTING CUSTOMERS' TIME, PRE and POST-ORDER:- MISLABELING ORDER SELECTION AS TYPE N: The true spec for Type N Barrel Connector is OD: 5.5mm, ID:2.5mm. This cable has ID=2.1mm, matching the Product Title and some of the description specifies. I spent extra time to try to assess which item I would get by ordering Type N. I compared it to the product description for the selection marked "Type M," thinking perhaps they were switched, but saw the same ID specified on the Type M page. This suggested to me I should order both, in the hopes that one would be correct, an approach that wastes more customer time to return what didn't work.- PRODUCT PAGE DOESN'T MENTION CENTER POSITIVE: Now perhaps "center positive" is standard enough that it doesn't need to be mentioned, to people in the know. But I would have liked confirmation of the center polarity before purchasing a hard-to-find unique cable. Seems to me a cable ordering page should include the complete specification of the cable SOMEWHERE on the page.SUBTRACT 1 STAR FOR INCORRECT CABLE LENGTH:- PRODUCT PAGE LISTS WRONG LENGTH OF 15 CM (same as 6 inches, minus ~1/32"): The cable delivered to me measured 10.5 inches (almost 27 cm), when measured end-to-end, from the plastic connector jacket of one L-connector to the other. It had a cord-only length of 7.5 inches (19 cm).If the vendor reaches out to me, with explanation or corrections to the page, I'm happy to add a star or two to the review for what appears to be a fine, working cable in a hard-to-find and unique configuration of a length under 12" with right-angle connectors. Thank you very much for that, Letotech.
