Great Work from an Outstanding Writer
Author Brett Battles has created a memorable and engaging set of characters readers will quickly find appealing and connect with. His books are fast paced and filled with action and the consequences thereof. His characters can be hurt badly and some will die. . . just like life. No matter the vagaries of plot, the actions and their results always fall within the bounds of reality as anyone who has served in a war zone can attest.Jonathan Quinn is no stand alone hero. He has allies and partners and leads a team of expert cleaners. But make no mistake, these cleaners do more than sanitize wet work scenes. When needed they can take brutally effective direct action and terminate their opposition with extreme prejudice. These characters have lives and loved ones and are fully realized human beings on their own. These are not some two-dimensional cardboard cutouts. They are flesh and blood and bone and sinew and they bleed when shot or cut. They die and get really hurt and recoveries take realistic time frames to heal. This alone sets Brett Battles apart. His heroes are not supermen and women but breathing, living beings with whom the readers can and will connect, like and, yes, even love. His stories, set in the dark underbelly of the intelligence, special ops world are likewise within the bounds of believibility. The world he writes about is the one we live in. The darkness found there is our own. The flaws and foibles both of persons and organizations are available and understandable as being part of the complicated nature of our species.I always look forward to a new installment in the ongoing saga of Quinn and Company and if you like this genre you too will come to love Jonathan Quinn and associates. Battles has humor, real suffering and hard won, often costly victories. Give him a chance and there's a very good chance that you too will wait with bated breath for the next chapter in Quinn's evolution.

"We don't wait years for justice"
"The Cleaner" Jonathan Quinn is back in Brett Battles' new action-packed novel THE ENRAGED.One of Quinn's colleagues has been digging into an "accident" that has haunted him for years - and now a list of names has been generated by a powerful consortium that will do anything to keep the past buried, and everyone on that list must die. With his closest allies targeted and tortured - and one of them killed - forget Quinn in the shadows "cleaning" someone else's wet work. He's an enraged man on a mission and he's going to avenge his friends or die trying. As Quinn says, "In our business, we don't wait years for justice that may or may not come. We deal with it ourselves."We see Quinn picking up the clues and continuing his colleague's investigation, realizing that the way to find those responsible for his death is to finish what his colleague started - but don't be fooled into thinking this is your typical "out for revenge" novel.Nothing about it is cliché. This is a smart, incredibly fast-paced thriller.Quinn has always been more than a "cleaner" and now he must draw upon all of his resources to complete one final mission for his long-time friend and colleague. And the result is a very satisfying read from Brett Battles, who with Jonathan Quinn has given us one of the coolest heroic characters in fiction today.I've been a fan of this series since it began with THE CLEANER. If you've never read a Quinn novel or short story then it's possible you might not be as invested in the characters at the beginning of this novel. It starts in a hurry and never slows down, but if you don't already know Quinn's relationships with the other characters in play then you might not be as eager to praise this book as I clearly am. However, I'd say this: give it time. As the book unfolds and the tension builds, what's happened in the past and what Quinn plans to do about it is revealed ... and it's a ride well worth taking.

Always Reliable
Brett Battles is incapable of telling a dull story. The Enraged is one of his very best. We must start with a SPOILER. Quinn’s friend and leader, Peter, has been murdered; members of Quinn’s team have been captured and tortured and Orlando has sustained multiple gunshot wounds. She may not survive.Quinn is enraged, but he must repress and canalize that rage if he is going to find Peter’s killer (and the agency behind the kill; and the agency behind the agency; and the client behind the agency behind the agency). His journey takes him from the Caribbean to the Washington D.C. environs, where most dark agencies and the darker agencies behind them tend to reside. While Quinn tracks bad guys the bad guys are tracking him, though some of the groups of bad guys include some good guys. Who can Quinn trust and who must Quinn eliminate?Like every Jonathan Quinn novel this is a suspense reader’s banquet, with the perfect menu—great heroes; great villains; appropriate violence; a complex but not convoluted plot (whatever my summary might have suggested); nicely-realized settings and a very satisfying ending. The opening chapter provides a look at the novel’s conclusion. Quinn is being interrogated. A menacing voice says, “Your silence won’t save anyone. I’ll find them like I found you.” Quinn responds, “What makes you think you found me?” Then he whispers, “Now,” and the room is plunged into darkness. For the next 250 or so pages we wait for that scene to reappear and when it does you can be certain that Quinn will be in command. No one is more reliable than Brett Battles. Enjoy.

THE ENRAGED - Brett Battles
Yet another fantastic book about Quinn, Nate, Orlando and Liz. Brett never fails to deliver. As a big fan of Battle's books, I expect the high standards produced by Brett in his earliest novels, and he never fails! The Enraged had me gripped from the first page, until I reached the very last one, and I eagerly await the next thrilling instalment. Come on Brett - get those fingers working that keyboard! Entertain me - AGAIN!

Don't read if you have not read the previous book
The Jonathan Quinn series has kept me entertained for months since I first discovered the books by Brett Battles. Be aware that volume 7 carries on directly after the cliff hanger in volume 6 so they need to be read in order.

Another Great Quinn Story!
The latest tale from the Jonathan Quinn franchise, The Enraged picks up right where the last one left off. Battles does an excellent job of weaving his story with authentic trade craft and enough action to keep you turning the pages. Fast paced, good dialog, and plenty of intrigue. I am already looking forward to the next installment!

Excellent
This is the third Jonathan Quinn Novel that I have read. The Enraged kept me up late much to my wife's irritation. A really great read. I am about to start my fourth "Quinn" novel.
