UPDATE: Amazon had UPS pick up the heating pad and immediately sent a replacement. I've used the replacement twice since it's arrival. I heated both times for 3 minutes and the temperature was perfect. I have a rotator cuff tear and want to avoid surgery as long as possible. The moist heat felt amazing within a couple minutes the spasms subsided and the only pain remaining was the ache, but 75% improvement. The covering is soft and cuddles the area you are heating. I used it lower to hit the ball joint, but would work great for a neck if pulled up around the collar bone. I have a very sensitive nose and the lavender was very subdued. I can't say it improved the experience, but wasn't offensive. The effect didn't last long after being removed, possibly 20 minutes, but well worth the amount I spent for the heating pad. I have a total tear of the rotator cuff and the second time I kept moving with the heating pad on. When it cooled, I heated again, and continued a normal routine. This may not be a suggestion from my Orthopedic Surgeon, but worked for me and allowed me to go about my normal routine with far less discomfort. Highly recommend this heating pad. The only negative were the beads flying all over the place making a mess. The second one is perfect and see no reason the detective heating pad is typical for the product. I may have received a bad product, but base my review on what I personally received. The warmth was good, I had no objection to the scent, but at multiple places there must be a seam that was not stitched. I took it out of the microwave, put it in the area of my shoulder where I have a torn rotator cuff. The area got moist heat and then there were little brown beads coming from someplace falling all over the floor. I tried to find where the seam{s} weren't fully stitched, but unable to find the place. Sad because I think it may work well, but must return and not sure I am willing to take a chance on another wrap.

Good coverage of neck and upper back and shoulders. Takes a long time to heat and is heavy. But a good feel.

Not perfect but better than expected... Scent is a tad strong at first but then it's fine. If sensitive to smells I wouldnt recommend. Shaow isnoerfect for neck and shoulder pain it stays on and hugs well. So at first-- it got barely warm and I just kept reheating... and even then it doesn't get hot like my orig bed buddy... but I tried it anywyas and even the warmth is soothing and helpful. I get bad neck pain and right shoulder pain and it's hard to get old orig bed buddy to stay in the place I need. I'll try heating longer next time

I have been having a lot of neck and back pain and my friend allowed me to borrow hers, and I immiadietly went home and bought one as a result. Since then I have used for back, neck, and stomach pain and it has been life changing, helping to relieve pain and help sleep. Also love the smell and the weight. Only thing is I wish it would stay warm longer but overall I am in love and thinking about buying a second

I love this item as it provides pain relief and the scent is awesome! However, I need to microwave it for much longer than the directions say and it loses the heat rapidly. I just use it more frequently for less time.

I purchased this as a gift for my college age son who pitches. He loves it! It’s soft, just the right amount of heaviness and the warmth brings blood flow to the areas that need to heal and recover after he pitches!

this is wounderful i got this november 2022. i use it almost daily, the only thing that i dont like is that the sand thats on the inside seem to disappear not sure how this happens , no tear nothing

At first this felt heavenly, once I could get it hot enough which doesn’t last very long at all. I was still ok, but when certain places felt like it was poking me, I started pulling out little splinters. I can’t keep it at this point.😩
