Strong, but stressed
The item/water plant, looks a little stressed, but it had been almost a week. The plant looks a dull olive green and wilted. I place it into my pond and I’m hoping it’ll recover. I gently swirled them around my pond, and no leaves came off, so the plant is still strong - just stressed.Update: one month later, plant has been putting off new lush branches since a week in the pond. I have a good feeling that this plant will help aerate my little lotus pond.Update: three months later and plant is thriving with little if any assistance. In these past 3-4 months, I only twice spread the plant out over the surface of the pond so it could get maximum sunlight, and it’s thriving. New branches are a brighter shade of emerald green.

Thought it would grow, it mostly didn't
Hornwort update: I trimmed the very tops of the stems and floated them for a week or two and now I have maybe 3 or 4 living stems that are still tiny but growing. The whole rest of the plant is dead, shed all the needles into the tank and is melting and making a mess. Other plants seem to be doing okay so far.-------Right up top, I think 4 stars for live plants on Amazon is a good expectation. I purchased 3 different plants in one order from this seller, so I'm going to copy the same review to each item. I'll try to update as things grow in.I ordered Hornwort, Java Moss, and Crypt Parva for a new mini shrimp jar. I placed my order on a Saturday evening and I did choose to pay for faster shipping to ensure they had the best chance. To my surprise, the order was filled and shipped Sunday morning. I just received them Wednesday morning and planted everything. It was in a box with a bubblewrap bag with the plants inside. Everything was intact.I received a tissue culture of something for free with my order, not sure what it is yet. Looks green and healthy, we'll see - I sometimes have bad luck with tissues. The hornwort I'm giving 4 stars. It feels strong, but bristly and it's browner than I would hope. Kind of a messy bundle, but it's okay for me because I chopped it into pretty short stems anyways. I expect the color to improve over time, maybe with some trimming and replanting. The java moss also gets 4 stars. It's java moss. Maybe the clump of moss seemed a little small... but again this was a situation where I really didn't need very much, so it worked out. It looks and feels healthy, and it will grow. The crypt parva gets 5 stars. Looked just as good, if not better, than a plant in a bag would look if I drove to my LFS and bought one. Big and healthy and easy to split into smaller pieces. I was worried the crown might be mushy but it's awesome.Overall, my experience is better than I expected. I'll try to update in a few weeks once things settle in, but based on how they look and feel, it would likely be my fault if they died.

Nice, healthy bunch of Hornwort!
Generous bunch for a low price, possibly the lowest price on Amazon with free Prime shipping. Came much faster than the estimated delivery date. Arrived well packaged, alive and healthy. Had some shedding but the Coontail variety is so lush it didn't show at all. This is a fast grower and can be used as a floating or potted plant so it doesn't need big roots to do well. I secured mine in a mini flower pot with a twist tie. This is a hardy species that can do well without much light so it's a great choice for any aquarium. I'm very happy with my purchase! Thanks!

pest snail surprise
When i got these in they were in great shape - green and beautifuli think it was a week or two before i notice that i had some unexpected pets - all of a sudden i had thousands of snailsI'm still trapping snails out of 10 gal betta tank even nowwhile i was pleased with the product I am not happy about the snails and in order to get rid of them I've had to get rid of the hornwort which my Bettas loved - my tank looks very bare now sadly i will have to transfer to another tank and replant it because the snails have almost destroyed all of the planted plants that were in my tank

The good the bad and the Ugly
The media could not be loaded. The good: I received my plants they were in so-so condition. I immediately put them in a 1 gallon tank and added a few drops of plant fertilizer, and I let them soak in the sun for about two hours that was left of daylight , took them out and immediately noticed things floating in the tank, I think they were scuds or some other type of insect or whatever- these are going in a puffer tank. I didn’t trust it. I didn’t want something to hurt my fish, so I soaked it in a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water and then I rinsed rinsed rinsed until I was fairly confident that there was no more of anything in there , I did see some snail eggs which didn’t really bother me because that would be food for my puffers but the fact that there was other stuff in there made me worried as you can see. I did get the extra plant it I think it’s Christmas moss. I’m just a little disappointed that the plants are in such poor condition though. The leaves are not great. Many shed like crazy. IDK if they will thrive. If they do I’ll update my rating. I’ve bought hornwort online before and have gotten a better quality than this with no added hitch hikers 😞I had another video of the worms that were also in there, (small but very noticeable) when I dipped the plants in the peroxide but Amazon only lets you upload one video per review. So buyer beware it’s a toss up you can be the lucky few that get great plants, or the disappointed few that doesn't. Either way treat and quarantine before you put this in your tank. Seller needs to do a better job at protecting the consumer from pests. IDK if I'll trust this vendor for any more of my aquatic plants.

Plants
I was sceptical when this arrived as the color seemed off and a little brown. I tossed in the tank any way. Plant has done well in my high ammonia gold fish tank and already grown some. It does shed a lot and could clog a smaller filter
