Helikon-Tex Men's Oversized Plus Size (pack of 1)

I was hesitant initially of purchasing this as I am a strange man size. Sounds strange but with a 52 inch chest, wide shoulders and fat belly I always struggle for size. I used the size guide and checked the reviews and settled on the size recommended. Very impressed with the fit supplied. Fits well over the shoulder with good arm length. Space in the belly area as well so you don’t feel restricted. The coat is heavy in the hand despite it looking like it’s lightweight. The material doesn’t make noise which is great for stalking. The pockets are very well placed and feature some nice touches. The main pockets join across the front but have a 1” lip inside so that if you forget to zip up your keys won’t fall out. The chest posters are just towards the centre line enough not to foul a rucksack strap but the inside chest pockets will foul your strap if they anything in them. That is only due to the large design internally. You can easily carry phone, nav computer, hat, gloves and snacks in this coat without any issue Feels like a waterproof coating is applied so the showers I have been out in haven’t caused any issue. I don’t know how it will hold up in a full storm As I wouldn’t use this as a jacket of choice for that I use this every day with only a t shirt under it. Great main zip that opens a long way to help with regulating body temperature but the material Never feels wet inside like goretex can when just wearing a t shirt Drys very well which is useful for the northern hemisphere. All in all a great little jacket which I am Very happy with. To assist if you need for sizing I have the 3 xl I am 6’2 and 21 stone with 52 inch chest. Hope this helps you choose one.

Brilliant jacket/smock. Very good quality, wore it out in the rain and the water beaded and rolled off the surface very well and kept me perfectly dry. Warmer than a jacket that zips all the way down, plenty pockets and drawstring adjusters. I ordered my usual size and it fits Great.

Very pleased with this jacket, particularly after waxing it with a few coats of homemade Greenland wax. Very well thought out design with large, easy accessible pockets and a good hood. I added a bit of wire to the peak to help control in in windy weather. Only problem with it is that my kids keep wanting to borrow it, so I may need to get another. [Feb 25] Still v happy with the jacket, still needing to fight my kids for it.. I have waxed it twice now. It’s been excellent in the snow/rain/hail that we typically get here in Iceland. Loving the big pockets, vent zips and quality construction. Recommended buy.

If your a big guy forget it. I'm normally an xxl and I can wear it but with only a t-shirt.not the best smock I've worn. if in gortex equivalent it would be brilliant. And forget about filling pockets and wearing it the images of gloves inside just won't work. Overall I'd see it as a fashion jacket with some ok features that you could use on the hill but buy a poncho to cover it, waxes mmmmmm I wouldn't bother unless your painting every stitch? And don't buy their poncho either it's for small guys with short arms. All that said I'd value at 75 quid. It's defo not military unless your a chef popping out for a tab near range stew table

Good fit, I'm 5,8 and stocky and fits well. semi water proof, good pockets but the breast pockets can be a phaff.

Very functional jacket made to a good standard with great pockets to stash all your bits and pieces. I'm 5 ft 8" and 14st and Amazon was recommending I get a size XL. I did my measurements and thought an L would be a better fit. Large fits me perfectly with just a base layer. Any other thicker layers would be constrictive. Would recommend going a size up from the measurements if you want to put a couple of layers underneath. Looks good too 👍

Bought this item for bushcraft adventures and I've had it about six months now. However, I now wear it on a regular basis around town or on a walk. I'm 46" chest and 6'04" and chose the 2XL and I'm glad I did; you need to have a bit of room as it's meant to be layered. Base layer in spring and summer, base and mid layers in winter and you'll be set. I treated it with a wash in wax and it's good to go and remains breathable; using a run in wax may reduce its breathability, and who wants that!? The quality is excellent and the mesh liner keeps it breathable but be ready to catch a few l glances when you wear it as there's nothing like it on the high street. It's shower resistant not fully waterproof so you'll need a poncho or somesuch if hiking The pockets are intuitively accessable even with a pack on Highly recommended. Hope this helps Tony

Great light weight jacket. Received it next day and spent two days waxing it. It’s made it a tough bit of kit. It’s not a cold weather piece and unless you go a few sizes to big you won’t get much underneath . Warm layer and that’s it. But plenty of pocket space… the top pockets are a bit fiddly especially in gloves but the design is to keep stuff secure and they certainly do that. Velcro on sleeves seems strong enough to survive lots of pulls and had enough to provide a good tight seal. There’s a handy drawstring inside the front pouch pocket to pull it in tight below your chest. I’ve got a few other Helikon items, all have seen plenty wear and tear and survived… and this seems like it will work just the same.

as a man that spends a lot of time outdoors in the Canadian wilderness i can honestly say this clothing system/jacket is amazingly adapted to all kinds of weather. i have used it in hot sand pine forests, throughout the northern boreal forest and on prairie plateaus as well as along the deep rivers of the peace river watershed. i use the Helikon-Tex wolfhound jacket under it for cooler weather and the two work together perfectly. to be honest i bought both in tan and green. this is high quality gear and worth the money.

Helikon Tex strikes again. I own quite a few of their products and never disappointed. I'm 5'11" and 212 lbs. Purchased mine in XXL. Perfect size for wearing as is, or with layers underneath. Amazing quality and design. Function and fit is perfect. Normally I'm a coyote brown type of guy, but the Taiga is awesome. Lots of roomy pockets and cinch points. Hood is nice and roomy, perfect for wearing a watch cap, or a trooper cover. Not obnoxious and pulling on your head/neck. I've had a lot of anoraks and this one is by far the best. ❤️❤️❤️ Helikon Tex

Nöjd. Bra kvalitet, tål lättare regn. Behöver vaxas för att klara mera. Lös passform, kan dras åt vid midja och nedre delen. Många bra fickor. Beställde xxl. Är i lite större laget vid midjan men passar bra över byst. Är 190 cm lång och väge 110kg, tränad fysik.
