Comp Cams FTW!!!!
This is an awesome timing set for any sbc running a flat tappet cam!!! Gears are machined well and seem strong and chain is pre-stretched and fit perfectly snug without any hassle to get on and into place!!! Will always be a fan of Comp Cam anything!!! This 3100 set is way better then the 2100 and is a huge upgrade for a small difference. You get to upgrade without braking the bank and use a very trusted and reliable name for close to what the cheaper brands charge, definitely worth the sleep at night u save wondering if your timing set will hold up over the years and feel safe knowing you'll get that 100k miles and more before having to do it again

Perfect chain slack in sbc 350 casting #10066036
I first bought #2100 timing chain kit but the chain in the kit was waaayyy too tight. Seemed like cheap chain also, I ended up returning it and bought this #3100. Both instructions in the kits never meantioned clearancing block (only for chain with #2100. for chain and cam sprocket with #3100). Chain in this #3100 is lager and seems much better chain with “USA” on it. And it is real roller chain with no seam on rollers like #2100. And it’s pre stretched. Perfect slack on the motor I was working on. Cam sprocket says “GM”

It’s okay, not the best casting I’ve seen out there, kinda rigid, I like smooth, it’ll do the job tho. Honestly no difference in the coyler brand. IMHO more exspensive ones is not always better, for this particular instance. The cheaper ones look and perform just as if not better and there cheaper. Save your money, “true roller” ? I don’t think so lol

Comp cam 3100 timing set.
This comp cam 3100 timing set fit perfectly in my 1985 Trans Am with a 305 tuned port injection engine,after stock rebuild. Definitely a good buy and would recommend.
