Compact, nicely designed and built well.
I needed to replace my CF Card reader, I decided to go with the SanDisk ImageMate. What attracted to me was the SanDisk brand and the over all design of the reader. It is well built, deceptively heavy for its compact design, and is easily packed into my camera bag. The USB cable that included is not very long but it is detachable and can be replaced with a longer cable.I have been using it regularly for the past month and it works well, I have not measured the transfer rate but transfers go through a good rate. I would recommend this if you are looking for a memory card reader.

Fast and reliable.
Love it. I've tried three other readers and found this one the only one to hit the max read speeds according to the SD cards ratings. Previous card readers no matter if they were usb 2 or 3, plugged into usb 2,3,3.1 ports never copied files faster than 45Mb/s. This reader his 125Mb/s on the slower cards and on the high perf 225Mb/s.50 minutes vs 10 minutes to copy off a SD card allows me to shave a hour or two after a photo shoot and reduces the possibility of an outside interruption to the process (windows updates, backups, family). If you get distracted like I do the speed reduces the chances of forgetting what stage of my process I'm at.Two previous card readers would overheat and stop working, often corrupting files or worse the card itself. This reader handles multiple cards easily without overheating. As for the card corruption, solved the problem by formatting the sd card in camera before reusing the card for important events. No more transfer issues.Worth the money, especially if you've invested in fast cards and ssd drives.

Works 100% as intended without drama.
This is the real deal. I finally bought this after buying so many nonsense no name brand CF readers again and again off Amazon that kept corrupting photos during transfer or failing outright within the first month or two. There is a lot of garbage on the market. This is not one of them.

This is NOT a USB-C device!
The item name is misleading. Shame on the WD/SanDisk marketing geniuses! The item is a USB-3 card reader. The only thing "USB-C" about it is the computer-end of the included cable. Even if you have a true USB-C interface, the device will only operate at USB-3 speeds. If you do not have USB-C ports on your computer, you will need a USB-3 Male A to USB-3 Micro Male cable to attach it (same cable included with most USB-3 external storage drives, INCLUDING Western Digital!). There is no adapter or USB-3 cable included with the device. It's a good product (I have 2 others), but flawed by deceptive marketing.

Much faster read speeds thanks to USB-C vs. USB 3.0 - Great if you have high-speed memory cards!
I got this to replace my old USB 3.0 media card reader: Kingston Digital USB 3.0 Super Speed Multi-Card Reader. This USB-C reader is much faster. I ran a speed test using my Lexar 300MB/sec SD card: Lexar Professional 2000x 64GB SDXC UHS-II Card. Using CrystalDiskMark this SanDisk reader achieved 244MB/sec whereas the same SD card was only 73MB/sec using my old Kingston USB 3.0 reader - That's 3.3X read speed over USB-C vs. USB 3.0.While still plastic, this SanDisk reader has a significant heft to it and feels "less chintzy" than the Kingston reader. The Kingston reader is so light that the weight of its USB cable will sometimes tork it so it doesn't lie flat on top of my desktop PC. Not so with this SanDisk reader, which seems more of a quality reader commensurate with its higher price. If you really want the highest quality and highest speeds from a card reader, check out the ProGrade units like CFexpress Type B and SD UHS-II Dual-Slot Memory Card Reader. I believe these are metal. They are also USB 3.2 Gen 2 and can perhaps read even faster than plain old USB-C, but are priced even higher than this SanDisk reader.

Works and is reliable
Works great, fast read write speed, stays connected, no drivers needed. I’ve used all 3 cards ports. Remember certain cards have their own transfer speed restrictions, I see a big difference in newer higher rated SD for my hero 7 vs the cards I use in my hero 3.The micro sd is spring loaded, the regular sd and cf are manual pull out.The cord could be longer as I’m using this with a desktop PC but for my laptop it would be perfect. Although it connects usb-c to the computer, it does use the wider USB connector on the device itself, which is less likely to be laying around if you wanted to change the cord cheap or easily.Overall I’d purchase again and am happy with this reader!

It works, solid and reliable, and fast!
I have this same reader at work, so when my off-brand reader at home started acting up, I replaced it with one of these from SanDisk. It's ultra fast, reliable, and it just flat out works. When you pick it up, you can feel that it's a hefty and quality built product. Buy a real reader like this, and only buy it once. You'll not have to replace it like the cheap ones.
