Overall Good
My scale has issues, but I can say that this safe weighs somewhere between 120 - 125 lbs. It has an actual, usable inside volume of 1.91 cubic feet. I am not counting the additional open space of the grooves that the shelves and drawers can slide into. ((Those grooves give you another 20+ cubic inches.)) The safe was packaged well and arrived in great condition. It only took 3 days to arrive. It is very sturdy. Its handle and dial are flimsy, but I expected that. The hinge is on the outside, but if it were removed the door would still be difficult to open (assuming the locking bolts were still locked in place on the left side of the door) because there is a long tongue and groove-like structure between the door and the case on the hinge side. You get what you pay for.
After researching various home safe options, I settled on this 1.23 cubic foot SentrySafe model. Right out of the box, its heft immediately instills confidence - this thing is built like a tank.Installation took some muscle since it weighs 86 lbs, but the included instructions made bolting it down straightforward. Once secured, I felt reassured knowing it meets rigorous fire and waterproof testing standards.Setting up the combination was easy enough. I appreciate having the backup override key too for redundancy. The robust lock mechanism with live-locking bolts seems incredibly pry-resistant.With the safe ready to go, I started transferring important documents, USB backups, passports, and family heirlooms into the roomy interior. The single shelf helps keep things organized nicely. What provides peace of mind is knowing the contents are protected from fire for up to an hour at 1700°F. The waterproof rating up to 8 inches is reassuring too after seeing footage of homes flooded.Overall, this mid-sized safe from SentrySafe seems like it will securely safeguard my most vital possessions for years to come. The quality construction and straightforward security features make it simple to have that protection. Definitely money well spent for preparedness.

Exactly as expected at a GOOD PRICE
I've been shopping for a fire (security) safe for months now and until now couldn't find one that had relatively good reviews and at a reasonably price. We've all read the other reviews and I agree and confirm most everything. It arrived in perfect condition by UPS. Paint finish is quite good and has a thin oily residue. The interior was clean, and the caulking around plastic interior and steel case was applied well. The shelf is thin and sags readily with any weight (My documents will be on this shelf.) The plastic combo dial works well and has loud clicks. Numbers are easy to see in low light. The key lock is nice for extra security should someone learn your combo. Exterior hinge? Not the best idea. The door inside has a pocket that fits a small frame pistol such as a 380.To in icrease weight: On the bottom of the safe I put about 20 boxes of 40cal ammo. In addition I will keep 5 handguns and some valuables. This adds at least 50lbs+. Now it's VERY difficult to move.I have no illusions that these safes will protect valuables from a determined thief. Safes actually would be one of the first things a thief would want because valuables are normally concentrated there. My safe will be a DECOY and have documents, passports and a few handguns. Other valuables (emergency cash, gold, expensive coins) will be stashed elsewhere inconspicuously out of sight.Hope this helps you.Note: Once the safe is opened it can be locked and unlocked with the key only as long as the combo dial isn't turned. You need to turn the combo dial to relock it completely.Note 2-27-13 (1 year): I use Eva-dry Renewable E-333 Wireless Mini Dehumidifer to keep the safe dry for a year now. The safe must be reasonably well sealed, One of these keeps my save very dry at < 40% relative humudity.I am quite happy with the purchase. Thanks to all of you that reviewed this and other safes.Note:Ships from and sold by Amazon.com

Extremely cheap, bendy, plastic parts that render the whole thing vulnerable.
Very disappointed with this safe. The hardware is very flimsy, cheap, fragile plastic and feels like it could break at any time. That means the most important documents and items in our lives will be permanently locked in a broken safe. The locking mechanism is also sketchy with the "key" not even being a key but a needless additional point of failure.Pros:- Heavy, sturdy walls and doors- Interior shelves and pockets are a nice feature.Cons:- Main handle is flexible, cheap, fragile spongy plastic that is just waiting to fail and reduce the entire safe to uselessness. It bends even opening the unlocked safe.- Combination dial is also very cheap plastic that feels like it's about to break off, which would render the safe completely inoperable.- The key isn't a backup or alternative method of opening the safe. All it does is prevents the safe from being opened even if you properly enter the combination. That means that if you set it in lock mode, you now have to have the key AND the combination to open it. Lose the tiny key and, again, the safe is completely inoperable. So the best thing to do is leave the key in the unlocked position. Useless feature.
