Taste is Horrible! But a Solid Product in Comparison to Other Magnesium Supplements
I agree with everyone who complains how horrible this tastes. I disagree with the person who says it is "medicine" and not supposed to taste like candy. First, it is not medicine, it is a supplement. Second, I don't think anyone expected this to taste like candy. I have had many supplements that don't taste horrible. Anyway, to be able to drink this without gagging, I take ice water, add a little lemon juice and a good teaspoon of maple syrup, stir it up and then add a scoop of this powder and stir it up again. It is more palatable. I did try it in a cup of hot tea with agave, and it only made my tea taste disgusting. When I am done with this container, I am going to purchase one of the flavored ones. Yes, it is more expensive because they add flavoring, but I'm spending money on trying to mix it with something else anyway. As far as whether the magnesium helps me -- I started using this because of getting muscle cramps in my legs every night. It seems since I've started taking it, the leg cramps have almost stopped. I purchased the powder because the tablets are too big. Sometimes I can swallow the tablet, but sometimes I start gagging and then cannot swallow them at all. Also, don't be fooled by other brands that state their magnesium is 200 mg or 400 mg. You have to look at how many mg "as magnesium glycinate." This brand is clear on its label what you are actually getting!

Simply the best!
This magnesium powder is one of the best you can buy. It's much more absorbable than tablet or capsule forms I've taken in the past. Of course, there are countless reviews here explaining the science behind the absorbability, but I'm just going to address the taste issue which has popped up in many reviews. This isn't candy, and I personally never approach vitamins or supplements with the intention of enjoying a delicious candy snack (an unfortunate expectation it seems, due to all the sugar-laden vitamin gummies now on the market). I'm looking for high quality products at affordable prices that will fortify my body. This magnesium ticks all those boxes! There's a really simple solution to the taste issue... mix it into something you enjoy the taste of! I haven't found that this is as incredibly unpleasant as others seem to think. Some reviews said it's gag inducing and tastes and smells like fish? Of course, we're all different, but I've never once encountered that myself. Regardless, I just mix this with my protein shake, and I don't even notice it - except for the positive effects on my body. I've noticed little to no smell when opening the container, and my shake tastes the same as it does without the magnesium added. This isn't a gigantic scoopful that you have to ingest to begin with. It's a rather small amount, but it has big beneficial effects. Magnesium is so important to multiple processes in the human body, and most of us are deficient. Do yourself a favor and try a canister of one of the best on the market! I'll continue to purchase this with hopes that the company doesn't change the formula due to all these taste complaints.

Terrible Taste
No stars. The worst tasting supplement I have ever tasted. It taste like old fish that lingers. It is only tolerable if mixed with a super sugary fruit juice. Never again. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

DIY electrolyte powder base
I've been attempting to stay better hydrated beyond coffee and juice, I've really cut down on the soda as I've gotten older, now in early 40s.I dislike most of the flavors out there for sports or electrolyte drinks and powders. The premade stuff, you are paying for mostly water as well. Decided to attempt to make my own mixture, using magnesium glycinate since the gentlest on tummy. Used Jorge Cruise recipe, but not include the glycine since this isn't for weight loss or appetite suppressant.Recipe is 1/2tsp sea salt, 1/8th tsp potassium chloride, and 1/16th tsp magnesium glycinate. Did not measure, but roughly 1/2tsp sugar and couple scoops of dragonfruit powder. I also ordered mango powder and goji berry. It was interesting let's just say. Not sure I used enough of the fruit powder. One suggestion was use the True Lemon packet and I think that might be better, or put the salt, potassium, magnesium electrolyte mix in juice. Lesson the sugar amount too in this base mix, since it overpowered the flavor of the salt a little too much, without enough dragonfruit powder flavor, and made my stomach kind of queasy from the over sweetness, with slight undertone of salt.Overall, I like this base electrolyte mix since I can experiment with flavors and use real sugar or honey, maple syrup or put in juice, versus fake since the premade stuff can be overly too chemical sweet at times.I'm a big fan of the subscribe and save since able to cancel orders if you want ito skip a delivery, or I cancel a subscription and start a new one if item is at a better deal, especially those with an additional 15- 25% off first order coupon on top of the subscription.Since this container will last me awhile, I will have time to check on the best deal to start another subscription on this same brand if less, or have the container delivered in the couple months I have it set for.
