I wish I didn't wait so long!
I've done a really good job reading article after article and blog after blog to find out what clothing I NEED as a pregnant person.My goal has been simple: only buy a few necessities to get me through this Danny DeVito phase and go back to normal clothing after I pop out this kid. It's my first one so research has been my best friend.People say you NEED maternity leggings (or any good, stretchy leggings), a maternity bra (a few), at least one pair of maternity jeans and that seems to be it. I specifically read that maternity underwear are NOT needed.Then I grew, bigger and bigger like something out of a horror movie. I'm only at 5 months now and I looks like I swallowed a watermelon without cutting it up or chewing.When you're pregnant, you have a choice with high-waisted items (over the belly) or low waisted (under the belly). For me, the low-waisted stuff didn't feel great - everything was rolling down on me. This included my normal underwear. They still fit, and though I usually wear bikini-style, the band still rolls under this huge pregnant belly. That, plus higher pants, becomes really uncomfortable.I headed to amazon after dealing with this for the past month and a half and ordered this pack of two giant panties. They are parachute-sized.I wear a L in normal life and I got the XXXL in these.Although they don't look good (and really, we didn't expect them to), they are SO COMFORTABLE.OH THANK GOD.They stay up over the bump, you can adjust them every so slightly, and I even feel like, added with leggings, they offer a little much-needed support.I immediately went back online to order two more.The price is fine, I'll only wear them when I'm pregnant, but I've realized that feeling comfortable has now trumped looking cute. Yes, these are huge and not flattering. Am I comfortable? Heck yeah I am. I'm carrying around a person and I deserve to be comfortable.
