This I Know: Seeing God in the World He Made

This children’s book is beautifully written and illustrated. It’s a sweet story of a child going on vacation with family and seeing all the wonders of God’s creation. There are some Bible references hidden in some of the pages that go along with the text. The song “Jesus Loves Me” is worked into the story also.

“For His invisible attributes, namely, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made” (Romans 1:20). This I Know: Seeing God in the World He Made by Clay Anderson with illustrations by Natalie Merheb, follows a little girl and her family on their day “of adventure, of exploring, of running and hiking and swimming and soaring!” They see God reflected in every aspect of their adventure through the beautiful world He has created. A little girl has been waiting all year for their family road trip, and today is finally the day! What will she discover on a day full of God’s joy? First stop is the beach, “God’s world is so big and so wonderous and wild.” Oh no, will a thunderstorm ruin their day? Of course not, for “Jesus loves me, this I know, even thunder tells me so.” And after the storm is a rainbow stretching across the sky. “Sometimes the storms are His grace in disguise.” God’s world is so big, she sees His love in the mountains, the snow, the fireflies, the crickets, and so much more! She never wants the day to end, but she can rest in God’s peace, knowing that Jesus loves her for the Bible tells her so. This stunning rhyming book filled with God’s grace and beauty is a must-have for every home library! The whole family will enjoy reading this one together. Most people know the song, “Jesus Loves Me,” and I love how this book expands on the song, showing kids Jesus loves them, for the whole universe and world shows them! From the moment you wake-up, God’s love is all around you. I hope this book encourages kids to notice God’s creation and how incredible it is! The illustrations are colorful and captivating! These nature-filled pictures reveal God’s beauty. I especially love how there is a Bible verse hidden somewhere on every page. Take the time to look them up. The end of the book also leaves room for kids to write how they see God in the world He made. The attributes of God are highlighted throughout this book, and it teaches kids that: “God is here and He’s there and He’s always wherever, He’s now and He’s then and He will be FOREVER.”

This book is positive. Helps you stay focus of the hear and now, to observe how many things to be grateful for. To trust in gods plan. Great visuals. I’m pleased.

Book says for ages 2-6 years but my Granddaughter is 8 years and could read most of it without help. The book is longer than I thought with a paragraph on each page and about 30 pages. The illustrations are beautiful and detailed! Lots to look at and they mention all of your favorite God's creations. A happy book for any kid to read and think of all the good things there are. The last page of the book is blank so your child can write about how they see God's love in our world. Great! From snowflakes to fireflies, crickets, hiking a mountain, views and fall leaves, rainbows, and even thunderstorms that show God's power and our faith to pray that everything will be okay. We just loved it!

Absolutely love this book. I actually enjoy reading it as it’s poetic-like and rhymes and has beautiful truths I need to be reminded of too (which is not the case with some books my toddler requests to be read over and over). I love the secret hidden bible verses hidden on each page.
