Great stuff, sift for seedlings tho.
You will definitely need to sift to 1/4 inch for seedlings, but overall the best and cheapest I can find for all perlite needs for the last few years.

Larger size perlite for better drainage
This is a larger size perlite I use in potting mix, for specific plants. It was cheaper in the past, but tariffs made the price go up.

A lot
This is a very large bag and good quality. The bag is shipped in a box that’s about 40” long x 24” tall x 11” wide. Very satisfied! Will purchase again.

Perfect aerator for heavy soil. Helps plants thrive.
Love this stuff. We have horrible clay and rock soil. This stuff helps to aerate the "dirt" so plants can thrive. Perfect to mix with regular potting soil for use with cactus.

Great value but a little too fine
A huge bag, and great for its value. Only nitpick I have is that this seems still too fine for being the coarse grade and quite dusty when I use it. Remember to wear masks!

THE best addition for Potting Mix, period.
Ive been container gardening outdoors for years, but this past winter was the first time I started my own from seed indoors. One admonition I'd always read for pepper plants but never really paid attention to was "prefers good draining soil" ... and you guess it, my first crop of pots started indoors in nov 2022 all died after reaching about 18" tall (see photo of browning leaves and unmodified soil). After a bunch of reading, and recycling the soil, I discovered my main issue was ROOT ROT, caused by insufficient drainage and overcompaction after repeated watering. The potting mix i'd used included a little perlite, but not nearly enough, so I tried again in March 2023, this time blending in an extra 20% perlite, and 25% of my homemade blend of 4:1 coco coir + perlite (which I use for microgreens). SUCCESS ... no more root rot. My modified potting mix drained much better, and stayed looser longer (making it easier for roots to penetrate/spread fully - look at how fine and evenly the roots penetrated in the 3rd pic). I also began using the optional added step of lightly "mulching" the soil surface of my containers with a thin layer of perlite, to help keep the soil cooler in direct sun (which helps delay fusillium). The last big advantage of this brand was price ... a jumbo 113 liter bag worked out to be significantly cheaper per liter than lots of other brands in smaller bags, so I split a jumbo bag with a friend. Highly recommended, for function and value.
