One of the most thought-provoking books on History I've come across.
I read (listened, actually) to Selbie's other book and was blown away--not just by the content, but his writing style, which was surprisingly easy to follow. This a very difficult feat to achieve with advanced topics like quantum physics, but Selbie has a gift for clear prose. When I found out about his earlier book, I resisted buying it initially because it seemed on the surface to be mumbo jumbo. The thing is, it is all true. (anyone catch my Han Solo reference right there?)I read this in five days -- five days in which I had so much other stuff going on that I didn't have the time, and yet it drew me in like so few books. And I took a ridiculous amount of notes.I've long believed that science is about to get turned on its head. There's an upcoming convergence of science and religion that will be as monumental as the (re)discovery of the heliocentric solar system. It is hard to come to any other conclusion after reading Selbie's The Physics of God, Lewis' Theory of Elementary Waves, or Sheldrake's Science Set Free. While we don't yet have all of the answers...but I'm pretty certain the majority of scientists' long held assumptions are wrong. The same is happening with history. When you discover Elliott Waves (and the resulting Socionomics), your views of humanity, history, and exogenic causality completely change. This book, which is a very well written and thorough (re)introduction to the ancient Yuga cycles, is every bit as challenging to the notion of linear history.Trust me -- this is worth your time.

Light up yourself and read this book and then give away five copies!
Beautifully written and very well explained for being complex material for the average human in 2021. If this was material was taught in high school’s across the world 🌎 the critical mass consciousness of humanity would shift to one of immortality. When we can grasp being immortal we will realize our unity here on Earth and be excited to share the knowledge to all that will listen ; as yoganada says, “everything else can wait but finding God cannot.”

Information Dense, Well researched... lots of brain candy to chew on!
AWESOME BOOK! I've read a lot on these subjects so most of such books tell me what I already know & put me to sleep. This on the other hand brings everything I've ever read in many subject areas together beautifully creating new levels and textures of meaning as well as teaching me new things - extremely well researched! Kudos to the authors! I love how information dense it is... lots of brain candy to chew on! Love it, Love it, Love it!

Opens the door to the seekers of truth
This volume offers insights not found in most writing regarding time, and the ancients. “The Yugas” takes the reader through a cycle of time revealing a natural sequence of our realm that stitches together many fragments of information I’ve found over decades of mystical research. The Yugas has answered many questions and left me with many more, and faith that the answers will be revealed. Read this book!

A book ahead of its time
I suspect years from now a better, more enlightened world will look back and wonder how a modest, quiet sage virtually unknown to his contemporaries, living in the outskirts of a poor city subject to foreign rule could give the world such a far-reaching, broad view of the History of Man on this planet. Granted, the modest sage was no ordinary man but a fully realized Master and he hadn't invented the entire concept of yugas, which is present in Indian philosophy form time immemorial. Yet, his calculations are the real contribution and these make the concept of the yugas relevant to modern man. And I suspect a better, future world will also thank the two writers who expanded on the subject, added multiple examples from History and created this valuable book.It is not impossible that the Great Master may have slightly miscalculated the beginning of Dwapara Yuga, as another reviewer pointed out, but to my mind this is irrelevant - what's 100 or 200 years in a 24000-year cycle? What matters is the general concept, which sheds light on our past and gives hope for the future.A cautionary word: man's future on this little planet is bright. What awaits us (at least those of us who will be physically present on this planet in ages to come) is spiritual growth beyond our wildest dreams. However, the same Great Masters who gave the world again the concept of the cycles of evolution warned that it may be a bumpy road before man finds his way again towards God and righteousness. We've strayed too far. Paramahansa Yogananda himself warned that "partial dissolution" is possible. Several other prophetic voices have confirmed that great changes (physical and otherwise) are on their way.Which is what makes this book all the more relevant: no matter how chaotic or destructive our near future may be, no matter how much materialism may prevail, no matter how far from our Maker we stray... Life will go on, the planet will go on, mankind will go on. We are witnessing the birth pangs of a new world. Let us never lose hope or lack trust in the One who, out of His infinite love for us, sent to Calcutta (and to the world) some of His most beloved emissaries.

Wonderful exploration of the Yugas
An awesome book I can't recommend it highly enough, such an intriguing and enjoyable read. I have been into the concept of the Yugas for a long time and this is a really well written concise and exhilarating read, probably the best exploration of the Yugas I've come accross. The authors takes us on a journey all the way through the cycle starting with our present day and projecting onto our potential future for the first half of the book, then exploring our past thorough out the second half, followed by a conclusion section. The book is based on the teachings of Sri Yukteswar and Paramahansa Yogananda so the Yuga cycle is locked in with the precession of the equinoxes and to my mind the authors make a pretty convincing argument that we are indeed in the early stages of Dwapara Yuga, not only due to the historical data and present day circumstances presented but it also resonates deeply with me on an intuitive level.Overall a wonderful book I couldn't put it down!

Feel so much better about life after reading this book
Everything about life, the universe and everything kind of fell into place when I read this. All the questions that I had about anything seems to find its answers in here. After reading it, I feel more calm and accepting of the future of mankind and what will happen to the individual. I can get on with life now and not worry about it. Thank you, David Steinmetz for such a good interpretation of our historic past, confusing present and path to the future.

Superb Book
Essential reading for anyone who realises that Darwin’s linear theory of evolution is way past it’s sell by date.Superbly researched and written and decades ahead of its time. A true book of the future/past.

Not great.
We are still in the Kali Yuga. One only has to take a look at the world around us to know that.

Sehr empfehlenswert!
