Prevue Pet Products Cuttlebone Medium 6-8 Inch Single

It was actually a little bigger than described. Since it was going straight into an aquarium that's just fine by me. I will order again from them, that's for sure!

This cuttlebone was smaller than my previous purchase. The two cuttlebone arrived separately, the first with a piece broken out of it. The second arrived with the plastic cover cracked and a good size break in the plastic. How no idea how long this was in this condition. Don’t think I will give either of these to my birds and will not buy them again. Pet supplies need to be monitored more closely. Two bags of bird seed arrived broken, in a previous order about a year ago, and seed was all over the inside of the delivery box.

I'm not using this cuttlebone for a bird, I'm actually using bits and pieces in my aquarium tank for my aquatic snails. I found that buying this version for birds is far cheaper than if I buy the same product sold for aquariums. I compared the ingredients in both this version and the type they sell everywhere for aquariums, and they are identical...it is plain, unadulterated cuttlebone. I put it on a hard surface and break it up with a hammer and put several small pieces in the tank. The snails go right over to it. I read online that they need calcium for their shells to be healthy,and this is a much cheaper way to do that without being gouged just because the packaging says it is for aquarium use instead of bird use! They say a picture is worth a thousand words...well this picture shows my aquarium snail happily munching on a bit of cuttlebone that I broke off of the big piece that came in the package.

I read theres a shortage of cuttlebones .... I just got birds again and am surprised at these miniscule little white, sharp edged things. ...Ten years ago, the cuttlebones I bought were huge!. ( 7+inches and 3/4 inch thick.) The ones now, are so small, theyre hard to attach to cage and if you drop it on the hardwood floor they shatter. Very thin and small. ?????? The "pseudo cuttlebones" are o.k. but I worry about the ingredients.

I ordered 10 Prevue Pet Products Cuttlebone Medium 6-8 Inch Single at $6.59 each. I received 10 5 inch singles. I do not know how much they are but I am sure it is far less than the 6" ones. It came in several shipments and I was never contacted by the company as to why I was getting the 5" instead of 6-8 ". I do not believe that I will ever order any more items from them. Mary, a disappointed customer.

The cuttlefish bone is way too small.

Product was described as 6 to 8 inches and when I received the package it was close to 4. Very disappointed .
