Golden Barrel Unsulfured Black Strap molasses, 32 oz

I was reading about blackstrap molasses and learned the unsulfured type was made from ripe sugar cane and didn’t need sulfur dioxide to keep it fresh while it ripens. It stabilizes blood sugar and can help with joint pain. It tastes wonderful in tea. It’s not very sweet (by the teaspoonful) so I add a half packet of Truvia as a sweetener. It gives tea a slightly caramel taste. It has made a difference in my blood sugar readings recently. Also, it’s nice to have on hand if you have any recipes that call for molasses. Highly recommend it.

Although I would've preferred a glass jar, this molasses seems to be of good quality. For someone unfamiliar with blackstrap molasses, this is much more bitter and doesn't mix into beverages as easily. This is not suitable for mixing into teas, but is nice for baking and works fine in coffee. I have been taking 1-2 tbsps daily for a few weeks and have noticed a significant reduction in pain from cramps. I would recommend this for women with that issue. In general, it is a great way for most people to get important minerals that may be lacking in their diet otherwise.

This is GREAT tasting molasses. This is my second jar, I use it to add flavor to my coffee in the morning. I am an old country boy from Tennessee who has grown, harvested and saw mollasses made in a barn and tasted it fresh. This is the real deal.

Most blackstrap molasses is quite bitter, but this Golden Barrel is the notable exception. It is really thick and moderately sweet with none of the usual blackstrap bitterness.I used to buy it locally for "almost nothing" in terms of cost. There is no place locally where I can get it and I was pleased to find it on Amazon, even at a more than double what I used to pay. It is still good value for the money.I noticed in a lot of reviews that people were freaked about that California warning on the label. Check the labels on everything: With the rules in CA being what they are, there is almost nothing that does not have that a CA warning it it anymore. If you won't use anything at all with a CA warning, you better get rid of your cell phone right away. That's my opinion on the CA warning label. It may differ from your opinion.

This is the type of molasses my grandmother used to make her molasses cookies. Not the same brand,but the same type and flavor. I have been trying to find this locally for ages, no one carries it here.Amazon blessed me with having available and with fast delivery.Highly recommend!!

The name fits the bill, it's a barrel of gold! FRESH, SWEET, HEALTHY, AROMATIC, DELICIOUS!! I bought this in an effort to help my husband with his recently diagnosed diabetes, what a great find it was! It's a wholesome, healthy replacement for sweeteners, and adds that little oomph to anything it's added to. Don't be tied to the traditional, give this stuff a try! You can use it for just about anything! Seriously, we have used it on oatmeal, in herbal tea, for baking, with potatoes, as a syrup on pancakes... the uses are endless, AND the nutritional value is exceptional! Do a little research on the uses and benefits, it will blow you away!! The real test will be at the next doctors appointment, and I know he'll pass with flying colors (not to mention how much I am benefitting from it too)!! This is just a "feel good" little gem with rich health benefits, I'll be back for more, and you should get some too!!

This Molasses has a good flavor. Its not too bitter and not too sweet. Keep in mind that his is the first jar I've ever bought so I really don't have much to compare it to. Other reviewers have called it out saying its not real Black Strap, but simply a poser. That, I cannot answer. I too have my doubts though. It seems very liquid and not thick as I had always imagined. I can recall my Mom was always saying something like "that lady is driving slow as molasses" when i was a kid. So therein lies my internal conflict. This isn't slow at all. In fact, head to head in a gravity race against plain water, it almost wins. Odd...
