Every fluval product I have owned, it always came with the bio media. Mine last a year and a half before I had to change it. Although I did not realize it is suppose to be changed once every 6 months. Will not go so long next time.

Easily fills the whole tray in my cascade can filter, id say the perfect amount, any more and it won’t fit. Always use these for the first stage of filter, lasts years and years! Simple and easy to use, just place and it’ll do the job for you. Extends the life of the sponge filter and filter floss greatly so you don’t have to clean it too often

Just what I needed! Fast shipping!

Use this in my Fluval FX6 (came recommended by turtle people & I trust Fluval) for my 125 gallon turtle tank and works like a charm. Water is clear and doesn't smell horribly (I also have purigen bags with this), I change them as they break down, which is far and few in between water changes. I'm happy with these, she is happy with them. I bought 4 boxes and only needed 2 and a half to fill the baskets, if I remember correctly. I forgot, I also mixed these with the Biomax Bio Rings, another 2 boxes. Which left them slight under filled for room for purigen bags and water movement.For anyone curious, I have the mix in all 3 baskets, then two bags in the top basket and another two in the middle). So far clear water and a not so stinky turtle!
