Affordable PM2.5 -- great filter inserts!
These fit great in any masks which have filter pockets. Both the front and back sides repel moisture, so it'll keep the "wet stuff" stuck in the front and back layers of the mask (whether coming or going), which is VERY important for the effectiveness of these masks!! The manufacturing is consistent, and I had a few which were stuck together -- not sure if it was a shipping/transportation damage issue or not, but I contacted the seller (after the return period ended, I might add), and they made it right within hours! Highly recommended product and seller. You can see in the photos it fits well into the filter pocket, and shining a flashlight through the mask shows it fully covers the main area directly under the nose bridge and up until where the mask folds under the chin. You can see the added "light blocking" - not scientific, really, but, where the "PM2.5" is etched, it's at least clear the added density added by the filter.Under full running water, you can see it is repelling all of it, and after turning it off, it does not soak in and stays beaded up on the surface. Finally, I cut one open and show each of the 5 layers against a scale.

They fit in my masks
I have several masks that require filters for the added protection but finding ones that actually fit inside has been hard to find. I ordered these and they actually fit perfectly. They are a little difficult to get in but when I gently fold them and then insert them inside, they're a lot easier to insert inside the pocket in my mask. When they are inside, adjusting them is really easy to do. Once I unfold, the filter falls perfectly in place. The only issue I may have is that it can be a little crooked but its really easy to adjust that. Once they're in, they don't move around. Even while I'm wearing my mask, I can feel the filter staying in place as the other ones I've had, I would be able to feel them constantly move, especially when I talk. With these, they never move unless I remove them. The nice thing about these filters is that once you put these in the mask, they kind of form to the mask without making this awkward to wear. Not to mention, you get so many for a really good price.

Best value for money
I figured I would get these since I wear neck gators and they all have pockets. I did not need fancy packaging, I just wanted the best value for my money. These came in a sealed plastic bag, were all organized, and were super cheap. I was using the filters for longer than one day, but now I'm not worried about it and just use one a day and throw it away. I think that you really should only use them for one day, because then you don't have to worry about them getting wet and dirty. Got what I wanted, and these will last for a long time, and I will certainly buy them again. I will say, the only downfall is, they do bunch up in the neck gator because you keep sliding it down and back up. It's not the fault of the maker, it's just what you get when you're wearing a neck gator.

Yes, there are 5 layers
These are pretty much the same type of filters that I have gotten for my masks in the past. Same width, but about 1/8 of shorter or less in height and a slight shade lighter, same thickness. As with the older, it does have 5 layers of protection as stated. I just purchased the larger amount of these since we seem to be stuck in a virus vacuum. They were double packaged in plastic and the inner wrap was vacuum packed. They are easy to use. Simply bend in half (no need to fold), insert, move it around to open it back up and flatten it out. I move it up to the top of the pocket. Most of my masks have pockets, but some don't. For these I just put the filter between the 'pocket less" mask and the face guard I wear. If it helps you can put a piece of double sided tape on the inside of your mask to hold it in place. If I have to take my mask off, I fold everything in half and put it in my pocket or purse. Nothing man made is foolproof, but every little bit helps and yes you can tell the difference. It does cover the mouth and nose. It would not work with the pockets if it were the same size.

Be smart, and these may may serve you quite well!
I appreciated the relatively lower cost per filter as compared to most/many other products for sale on Amazon. I also greatly appreciate that—knock on wood—by washing my hands before swapping out whichever is the most recently used filter used from this bag, to date, our family haven’t caught the Rona [knocks on more wood].Obviously this product isn’t the only thing keeping our family safe, but I maintain it’s carrying some water in terms of helping all of us. One thing has been pretty clear: the filter has been useful in keeping various water particles (which may or not have been carrying COVID) out of our lungs. I’ll be the first to say otherwise, unless/until the product fails and I’m 6 ft under—at that point my family can/will say otherwise on my behalf. What am I saying? The filter has worked for us, in specific, informed contexts. Obviously, it’s not a hazmat suit, and therefore it’s not an invitation to attend an indoor or outdoor super spreader event for hours on end. With that being said, if you’re prudent, this mask filter can certainly help you stay safe. Pandemic notwithstanding, this is an excellent product; my only complaint, per se, is that the original packaging, which is designed to provide low overall unit cost, may do so at the expense of future sterility/safety after initially opening it: this potential lapse in sterility can be mitigated be being prepared with your own [clean] storage container, whether it is a plastic bag, food container, or other storage unit.Upon opening, there are no individually packaged filters, so do wash your hands beforehand and store the filters in a clean/dry/secure location. If your packaging is like ours, then after initially opening these filters, definitely consider having on hand a large resealable plastic bag storage to maintain their sterility and efficacy before use as your cloth face mask filter.Overall, these filters fantastically easy to swap in/out of cloth mask slots—psychosomatic or not, this filter provides additional layers between the air (and, therefore, the Rona) and me—so, thanks for helping keep it that way! This filter’s efficacy or abilities won’t matter if the underlying mask holding it is used too often and/or insufficiently washed or replaced. Be smart, and these filters can help augment a safe pandemic protocol for the vast majority of us who are neither healthcare workers nor frontline COVID combatants. Wash your hands early and offen—and wear a mask! This filter can help make your make your mask more protective, assuming you regularly wash/clean/sterilize it.Prudent behavior, [actual] critical thinking, and constant vigilance will, in my assessment, offer you and your family the most sustainable, long-term form of protection.Accordingly, I don’t necessarily endorse this specific brand—or any other— of filter. Nevertheless, let the record reflect I have not reviews any other such face mask filter product, and, unless/until circumstances present evidence otherwise, this filter product—at the nexus of its price, quantity and quality—has earned it 5/5 stars from this particular consumer. For the record:I am not a doctor, but I hold do a graduate degree in public policy, which includes studies in health policy. While this experience is woefully insufficient to make me a virologist, epidemiologist etc., it has provided sufficient knowledge for me to protect my family and to provide other potential consumers this disclaimer/sidebar.Obviously, if I or a family member find ourselves 6+ ft I under from the Rona, this review will have an epic addendum singing a very different tune.No matter what mask or mask filter you choose, stay safe. Loom after each other. We’re all we’ve got—whether you want to admit or not.
