Deceptively smaller than pictured and NO instructions.
Completely deceptive in size. Much smaller than pictured. It came with NO instructions. As a gift; know the recipients hobby and skill level. Due to the size this project (hobby) took some skill, but it is very basic to assemblely.

Amazon is not a good source for kits.
I received the kit and assembled same, even though (as usual) no instructions came with the "KIT". The IC was loose in a plastic bag with other components; so I was not surprised that it would not work. I had RF background noise, and the circuit tried to "seek" a station but the damaged chip is not going to work (I design circuits and know what I'm doing.). The plastic bag the maker dumped the parts into showed a 700 volt static charge, so they ruined it in packaging; the chip is sensitive to even small static charges. (I wore a wrist strap etc, but knew the IC was likely to have been damaged). Amazon is no place to buy such kits; no instructions etc. and a beginner is not going to learn anything except "don't buy from Amazon".

High difficulty level for a newbie. Also, smaller than advertised!
I enjoyed attempting to build this radio, however instead of fun tunes I literally got smoke. It doesn't come with any instruction, that has to be found online. Everything was going swell until the micro-sized chip needed to be soldered, which turned into a big mess for this newbie. Note: The display photos are also comically large compared to its real size as this thing is tiny. They digitally added it into the photos making it appear larger than normal. I detest this practice as it's deceiving to the customer.

9 to14 Year olds Love these small radios
This small package created such an awesome project for me grandkids ages 9, 11, and two 14 year olds. I must say that I pre-opened all the kits and soldered the IC in place before they opened the kits. They put the rest of the kit together on their own (except the 9 year old) after a few short instructions on how to solder. They were so excited about the performance that they continued on day 2 making awesome holding packages for them.
