Worked to get the turtles from the koi pond
These have a nice length, but the head does feel a Titch flimsy. We were worried it would not be able to take the weight of a 12 inch yellow belly slider turtle that it gotten into my Koi pond. But when we finally cornered that little sucker this net was able to handle it, and it didn’t tear from his claws. So, I am happy. I now have two nets in case any of those pesky turtles. Come back!

For me the bad outweighs the good
The pros of this net are the basic construction. It is light weight and folds and telescopes easily. Thus the 3 stars. The two issues for me are seen in the attached photos. First, the rim of this net is not solid metal all around. The top end is a plastic material. That is what allows the net itself to fold. And while that is shown in their photo it isn't in the written description. So, when you actually see it, it appears to me that sooner before later it is going pull away from the ends holding it on the rim. More importantly though is how the net itself is connected at the base to the rim. As you can see it is held by a small clip connected to the metal base and the other end through a bundled section of the net. To me it is on a matter of time under any semi-heavy weight this is going to tear or fray off.Overall, I would use this net for jobs I knew would only involve small, lightweight fish, but I wouldn't use it for anything much heavier. As long as you know this it would probably be a good net for you. In my case I sent it back and will look for something sturdier.

Useless after the first day of fishing
Everything about this net looks high quality but it’s mostly plastic which I was able to hear cracking away as I pull the net out of a couple of feet of water for minnows in a lake. I’m to nervous to try catch minnows along a running creek and I hate that don’t have a decent net that’s study enough for anything. Not like I plan on trying to catch salmon out of a waterfall but I doubt this could hold a nice sized fish at full length. There’s no way to seal the extension and my pole kept popping dragging along the ground out as I walked to the lake already carrying my pole and tackle box. I did catch a lot of minnows but at the end of the day my net detached and that’s when I learns that’s its actually held together with glue. There’s no twist function that allows you to reattach it. This advertisement is very misleading like images that make it look like there is a twist feature when there is certainly not. I’m shocked it made into “Amazons Choices” Not a smart invention, not reliable. If you are extremely delicate & I mean EXTREMELY delicate with your gear boy do I have the net for you. I am providing an extra star for customer service. They said they would refund me for my troubles and they plan on updating the product. I hope to give this net 5 stars in the future.

Broke first use
Bought this net in anticipation for the salmon season to open in my area. The salmon are small where I live (5 pounds or so). Since the season opened later than normal this year, my first time using this net was past the return date. Before the day started, we talked about not holding the net out while pulling the fish into the boat, but pulling straight up on the handle. Unfortunately it broke while netting the fish. To make matters worse, we lost the biggest fish of the day because of this.I will try to return it, but not holding my breath.(The part that broke was where the net locks into place after unfolding it. I put a Ty-wrap on it to get us through the day)Edit*** They sent me a new net at no cost to me. Great customer service!

The best purchase ever made for the vacation
Very good quality , not just for kids , adults can use it too. Lasted our whole vacation and most importantly it folds! So we could easily take it in a suitcase.

Compact and useful
A little tricky to open up and deploy, but it is compact, useful, and seems relatively solid.

Nice and compact
Good Delivery folds down nicely folds out and extends nice. Not to sure about the plastic bead chain on the front lip, if it will hold up to bigger fish like over four pounds. guess I will find out when the ice goes off the lakes up here in Canada.
