The real deal and thick and guey like it should be

I am an African American female in my 50s, with fine hair. In the past, my hair suffered from over-processing and I spent approximately 3 years with hair weaves. Unfortunately, the weaves had taken its toll on my hair and my hair began to bald on the top in addition to the edges thinning out even more. I was given this product by a beautician but it sat on my shelf for a year while I tried to cover my hair with wigs. I went natural and no longer have traces of relaxed hair so I started using the JBCO. Well, well, well...after 1 month there was a noticeable difference so I ordered more from Amazon. It has been approximately 6 months since I started using the product and the bald spot has filled in so much so that I now feel comfortable wearing my natural in public with twist outs. Here's the kicker, because it worked so well on my hair, I decided to thicken my thin eyebrows. I applied it to my eyebrows at night and massaged it in for about 2 mins and viola...my eyebrows are full and beautiful after just 5 weeks. My edges did grow back; however, because of too many years of abuse, they will never totally fill in completely. I agree with other reviewers; there is a smell, somewhat of a burnt odor. I did some research, the smell may be due to the ash that is added from roasted castor beans into the oil. This product works but you have to develop a regiment. I use it every other or third day. I use it sparingly and massage the areas for 2-4 mins. You won't see drastic changes overnight but give it some time and the difference will be incredible. Packaging, as always was great with Amazon and shipping was free and delivered in 2 days with Amazon Prime.

You receive a decent sized bottle and product for the price. It definitely helps so much with hair growth, within a week you will notice the difference. This is a consistent purchase for me.

I’ve ordered this in the past and it’s great. It seems to have improved my skin so nicely when I mix it with moisturizer at night.I ordered another bottle recently and it arrived unsealed and spilled all over the inside of the packaging. I processed an exchange - returning the unsealed one for one that’s properly sealed, only to receive another one with no seal. The cap wasn’t on tightly either.Is there a sealed version available for purchase? 😅

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Excellent oil for wrinkles

I've been using Sunny Isle's JBCO for about a year now and I can testify to it's amazing benefits on my hair. I actually mix it with Wild Growth oil to thin the consistency. This was my first time ordering the Extra Dark and it does have more ash content so it does smell like an ashtray, but I still give it 5 stars because of its effectiveness. Around October of last year the back of my head began to itch like crazy and I didn't know why. I didn't have lice or ringworm or anything else like that. Pretty soon my hair began to shed because of my profuse scratching. I tried Sulfur 8, and Glovers medicated oil (which smells horrible) and nothing would stop the itching. I had run completely out of JBCO a couple of months prior and I decided to order a new bottle. Once I received it I immediately began to apply it where my hair had fallen out. It was thin and so short I couldn't grab it even to braid. I apply it day and night to my entire scalp massaging where the hair had fallen out. I can report that within about 1 1/2 months my hair has grown about an inch, and the itching has stopped. My curl pattern is 4A. It's a great product and I recommend it for anyone who wishes to have longer thicker hair.

If you ever want that “island” feeling just put that dark castor oil on you man. You’ll thank me later or you’ll need bail money but either way… keep it oily!
