Gun Safe for Pistols Quick-Access Mounted Firearm Safety Device Pistol Safe

I purchased this safe a few months ago for my desk at work and frankly I have been impressed so far. Initially, the setup for the electronic key code and fingerprint reader was confusing to understand. The manual that comes with the safe is a little difficult to read with some improper English, which caused some difficulties in the clarity of setting up the custom code and fingerprint reader. It took me about 20 minutes to figure out how to set the code and fingerprint.Once my code and fingerprint were setup, it works flawlessly. The installation was easy and the screws that come with it work fine.The inside of the safe is nicely padded with foam with a pre cut hole for your firearm. There is a nice LED light that lets you see inside.It also comes with a key so if the battery dies or the electronics stop working, you can still get into the safe using the key.The battery life on it seems to be very good, I have had to change the batteries yet, nor has it shown signs of low battery.CAUTION:The only downside to this safe that I found is that if you have a full size handgun with a weapon mounted light AND a red dot sight, it makes the gun too tall to fit. My full size Sig P320 was able to fit perfectly inside with a surefire X300 light, but when I had a Trijicon RMR installed on it, the gun would not longer fit due it to being too large.

With some Liberal controlled States enacting "Secure Firearm Storage" laws, this handgun safe certainly well meets requirements. While I have not had opportunity to mouny it yet, it is obviously well made and durable. I always look for negatives in case there are issues I want to be prepared for in advance. The only negative I can find so far is that it is a little tricky fitting the battery block back into place. This doesn't affect it's operation so not a big issue. If you follow instructions for removing the pop-out (which you need to do for mounting), it is much easier to remove/replace the battery block. It is a given that no gun safe is 100% impervious to forcible entry. This handgun safe offers what I believe very reasonable security outside of a large heavy-duty "Fort Knox (brand) or similar floor safe. Accessing your handgun is relatively quick by eithe entering your own set code ot fingerprint option. a Barrel type key (2 provided) will also quickly open it in case you are negligent and let the batteries go dead. I unfortunately can't report on the longevity of the batteries but no doubt (as with any battery operated device) the more you are opening it the less time they will last. Additionally there is a separate battery block which you can use from the outside in an emergency to electronically open the device. This and the keys should be kept in a separate, preferable secure location. I am contemplating how I want to install / mount this as there are numerous options to choose from. As far as room for handguns it is generally designed for one handgun, although 2 could be placed inside depending on their sizes. For reference: A Glock 34 and 1911 will fit (individually) but a 4" S&W 19 will not due to the grips extending too far back. For my initial assessment I am pleased and likely to purchase another as well!

Works pretty good, sometime reader misleads print and you have to readjust. Most time it works great.

The media could not be loaded.  The save arrived very well packaged and in good condition. I like everything about this one.The setup is easy. Manual shows where to insert the batteries. The internal light is triggered by the lever that is inside, so when the safe is open, the light is on.I like the design that you can attach it to the top or the side of the wall/table and the part that is attached is the plate, not the whole safe, so it makes really easy to setup. Once the plate is in place, the safe can be securely attached to the plate.great addition that it comes with is the battery pack in case the inside batteries are dead you can just plug the pack to unlock the safe. very nice feature.It is for the gun and designed to automatically open once the finder print is match or keys are inputted. The design is very sturdy and durable. Not easy to break and it is a low profile which is the +.

Not very sturdy, too bulky, and my sons finger was read as my own 3 times. Would not buy, probably going in the trash.

I wanted a quick access safe and this fits the bill. It was easy to mount, easy to assemble the battery and drawer.We programmed our fingerprints easily, and the unit now recognizes and operates exactly as described.I was concerned about the battery dying, but the unit comes with a clever power supply that will allow you to operate the scanner to unlock it and allow a battery change.The key lock is interesting as it takes two specific actions to get to the unlocked position, but that is actually a good safety feature to help deter a theft or unauthorized use.This isn't a fire safe, and probably won't deter a determined thief who doesn't care about damage or noise, but for curious children and random house guests, this is exactly what we need to meet state regulations and have quick access to a self defense tool at a reasonable price.

Arrived on time and in perfect condition. Bottom of drawer could use another inch of removable foam for smaller pistols. Also, I had to drill 2 holes in the center of the mounting bracket in order to wall mount directly into a stud. Otherwise very happy so far. Easy to mount, set up and use.
