FINALLY, a Mini that Works!
I've been through six DVD players in the last six months, all returned with disgust. Usually, the issue is picture quality. Terrible, terrible picture quality. Another issue is that most don't fit in the tiny space I have, even the minis because they're badly designed or just not very mini. This is very well designed at this price point, and the picture quality was excellent once I adjusted the resolution in the settings. I'm annoyed that closed captioning came on by default, which is really common and very stupid, and I almost threw it back in the box when I saw it taking up 2/3rds of my screen by default, but a resolution change fixed that AND the crappy image quality at first. After six worthless DVD players, I am truly pleasantly surprised and excited about this one. I'd expected to throw it right back in the box, but nope! If you need tiny, good, and inexpensive, THIS in your DVD player! Finally, I can use my workout DVDs again!

What I needed
Pros:This plays my family movies, vcds, mp3 duet of my mom and me with some weird dictation in between, dvds, and home made (hp memories) slide shows. I don't remember if it plays cds with jpgs (I think it does). It gives me a way to play the others and I can still migrate the jpgs to a flash drive. Its size fits in with the cds/dvds on the same shelf, which is a bonus.Experience:I played from hdmi to monitor connection, so my main goal was to see different formats of family videos which it accomplished in lieu of not having a computer with a dvd player. Going from HDMI to monitor mode, possibly vga, it made the main menu too big for the monitor, but this is an older one. I think for hdmi to hdmi, it would be more proportional. Once I got into play mode for the home movies, I could see my family was the main thing.I don't remember if I used the remote. I think I went with play, stop, and eject on the machine side.Cons:The plastic is a little fragile so handle it carefully. The stand came with one plastic knob cover broken so I gorilla glued it back on. I found the stand awkward to use because the back keeps falling backwards and unless the player is resting on the lip of the stand, the wire lip gets in the way of the door opening. It looks nice but isn't very practical. Other stands work fine in its place. It may provide a way to hang from back of monitor, but I would be watching it carefully and I still have to take it out of the stand to open the dvd door. If you are playing from usb flash drive, maybe that is not an issue.Overall, the player itself is a very good buy and minimalist in look, storage, and does a lot for a small device. I am extremely happy with it.

Best DVD In Class
Just received this DVD player today. First they are correct when they say light weight not to mention how nice it looks. I swiped out my old DVD player and vala it was up and running. It also has a built in speaker which I've never seen on any other DVD player. I tested it out and though it is not not going to replace a stereo, on it own it's pretty good. Time will tell if it lasts but so far I could not be happier.

Doesn’t work after a few weeks.
Product does not work with usb port at first, but as time went on, the cd/dvd player quit working too. I’ve bought two of these, and I’m very disappointed. It’s hard to find something capable of playing cd/usb that doesn’t have AM/FM( which I don’t want). Not sure what I’m supposed to do now- my return window is closed. Very disappointed. I hope the company will reach out and correct this.

Bad interference noise
The unit works well and is pretty fast starting up and playing. Mechanically it’s fairly quiet. But it produces a bad electrical noise on both the HDMI and analog outputs.

Not for every screen
The player is lightweight, compact, and has a very pleasing design. Set-up was easy. I purchased it to have a portable, region-free, DVD player that was easy to move from the big living room TV to the older monitor-serving-as-a-tv in the bedroom, as well as with a laptop or computer. Sound quality through connected speakers was good; I didn't test the speakers that are built into the player. Of the three screens I tested, the laptop looked the best, followed by the big Roku TV. On the older Dell monitor, the picture was very dark and adjusting the monitor/player settings made the picture brighter but, very washed out. I was not able to find a setting with the monitor or large TV that looked good to me. It did look good on my laptop BUT, I had to connect the player to my Genki Shadowcast (and app) before the computer would recognize the device. So, not plug-and-play with my laptop, despite having usb/usb-c/HDMI ports. In the end, I chose to return it and spend a bit more for a small Blu-ray player. This could be a good product for you, depending on your devices and set-up.
