Binding and front/back covers look nice and are durable. The gift receiver was very impressed with the lock on the journal book. He also commented positively on the quality of the paper.

Husband loves this journal. I'd say it's his favorite. Loves the little locks on it!

Only issue I have with the book is the large MONTEXOO stamped on the book. Really takes away from the design. Over all it's a nice book.

Update: I wrote the seller and they quickly responded. I was sent a replacement straight away and it’s exactly what I had ordered. The design is embossed well and the leather is a good quality. It’s a beautiful handcrafted journal and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase and the level of customer service offered by the seller. Well done!I received a much smaller, approximately 4.5” x 6”, non-refillable handmade griffin embossed journal with only one latch and no keychain was included. Unfortunately, the item I received will not be sufficient for its intended purpose. The smaller journal is indeed beautifully handcrafted which is the reason I gave it an extra star. I have written the seller and will adjust my review based on their response. There’s always the possibility I was simply shipped the incorrect item and I can edit my review.

this was a gift, my friend loved it. it is sturdy and natural leather with a good feel to the tough. The pages are good quality paper with a nice cream color and good spaced lines.The locks required a ttiny bit of lubricant but that is expected and a single application will last at least a year.

UPDATE: Thus was replaced by Amazon and the replacement has the exact same issue. Now I have 2 defective journals to return. Unfortunately this close to Christmas, I can’t replace with something different so I’m going to take one of these apart to see if I can fix. DO NOT BUY!! Way too much money for it to be this messed it!!The book is beautiful and seems pretty sturdy but when they put it together, the put the pages in the book upside down! The header and date spots are all on the bottom left of each page. Too late to return and replace before Christmas so won’t be able to gift to my grandson. Very disappointed

I bought this for my daughter and her husband to use as a journal for their Pathfinders game, they currently use a spiral note book!! With Christmas coming I was trying to come up with some thing to buy they would not get for themselves. This is perfect. It has old world charm and the metal "locks" add just enough. The paper is smooth for easy writing and the rough uneven edges add another touch to the fantasy world theme. It is made of leather(?) and I was thoroughly surprised at the detailing. I would buy this for anyone even just looking for a journal to write down their daily thoughts. I would definitely buy it again.
