Nearly perfect Bowie album.
Absolutely a top 50 classic. This is one stellar album from start to finish. There isn't anything I have to say about the contents of this album. If you have never heard the album it is time to buy it. What you want to know about is the new remaster. And wow did they improve this from the older, colder renditions down in the late 90s. This sounds as good as it is going to get. Nearly perfect. The coldness and shrillness of some of the old remasters is gone, and the warmth has been restored. I don't think the album has ever sound better on vinyl or CD. They did a terrific job here. The album CD is nicely painted and the booklet is interesting. It's a top quality release that is a must buy even if you have an old CD. Bowie lives on.

3rd Upgrade
If it was not for Amazon, the Reveiwers, and Sellers I would be up a musical creek without a paddle. I would not have known of this release of Hunky Dory, or liked my chances of buying this release. Hunky Dory is my all time No1 Album, which even surprises me, considering my No1 Rock Albums are Tonights The Night by Neil Young and Bringing It All Back Home By Bob Dylan. Iam not a reveiwer, although I have played the reveiwer in the past, and would not be able to do the album justice. Only to say Art (lyricly abstract) as never sounded so emotional or searching to my ears. Being a mini Lp jacket version caught my interest. After reading reviews on the better sound decided to buy. This being my third upgrade: first upgrade; 1990 RYKODISC, secound upgrade; 1999 EMI (24 bit remastering). Begining a Japanese pressing there is usally a improvement in sound and the album does sound better, and the improvement is more than a slight one. To me this upgrade was worth the purchase, and I do not have to wait another 9 years for a Deluxe or Collectors Edition

Another REPLACEMENT has crossed my doorway, I feel it is legitimate for me to write on it now.
HUNKY DORY was the original coming-of-age LP for DAVID BOWIE and it was followed very quickly by a number of other discs. So quickly in fact that a lot of the juice that he may have been able to acquire during that time for HUNKY DORY was drained away and moved off toward some of those other discs. PERSONALLY, I prefer good old HUNKY DORY for its originality and its content, I eventually ended up owning all of the other ones as well, and I did not rush things while I had the time to spend with the original disc and loved every single track on that. I think ANDY WARHOL is particularly great.

Good cd in cheap case
I’m happy with the quality of this remaster. When comparing 3 songs that are also on Changesbowie and Ziggy Stardust albums, the volume is higher, but without ruining the dynamic range and quality of sound. One star taken off for cheap cardboard “case”instead of proper jewel case.

Un discazo y una muy buena edición, desconozco si las habrá mejores pero esta está de lujo, carpeta interior con letras, fotos e información, lo mínimo que se le pide a estas rendiciones, buen gramaje y buen sonido. Muy contento con la compra

This is the earlier album you go back and buy after getting hooked on Bowie's later work. It's 100% enjoyable with clever and kooky songs mixed in with some absolute classics. The highlight track Life on Mars is one of Bowie's best, but then “Changes," "Oh! You Pretty Things," "Quicksand" and "Queen Bitch” are fantastic. It's all the better for the contribution of the band (including Mick Ronson) that would later produce Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane
