Do these work both ways? Ie to block audio from noisey neighboure

No, this certainly would not work. Its is almost pointless using this product, it is not proper dense sound proofing, its wafer thin.

Why are these advertised as triangle shaped optimal sound dampening yet the true product is flat squares? It's completely false advertising!

Well, mine came in a flat pack and they either need 2-3 days to expand, or it's quicker to dip them in water, wring them out gently then give them 10 minutes in a tumble dryer and bingo! you have triangles!

The pump for my fishtank is in a cupboard under the tank and this resonates. Will these panels cut down the noise?

The panels are vacuum packed so need to expand when opened. Does cut noise down but not that impressed to be honest. Best thing I could recommend is make a box with carpet underlay and use the panels as well therefore double insulation. Make cardboard box then u can add as much carpet underlay as possible bottom top and sides then add the acoustic panels

Can these be glued together to make a sound proof box for a small water pump

They are very soft and flexible so would not stand up by themselves. The instructions say they should be glued on, but I just used duct tape to keep them in place.
