Having read a large number of ENFP books and sections in other career/personality books I already am finding this to be my favorite for a number of reasons. 1. It isn't ridiculously short! The stand alone books and the sections for any individual type within a larger book all seem somewhat lacking in depth due to lack of content. 2. This book seems to really dish out the positive and negative aspects of this personality type. In turn it explains how to work towards strengths and manage weaknesses. 3. The author has really constructed something which hits you from many angles. There are cited aspects for how ENFP people develop over their lives. There are layers of other personality subsets using other personality profiles, and suggestions for looking further into this new info. There is a lot of input from other fellow ENFPs. 4. In every section the info seems so valid, but beyond that there have been many quotes, suggestions and descriptions that have really hit home and given me "the feels" or made me laugh out loud. Obviously I can't guarantee you will feel the same but if you are an ENFP it's probable you will and that you will love feeling understood and validated! ;-) I will gladly update this review when I have finished the book, but I wanted to put something out there to encourage people to give this book a go if they are looking for more information on the ENFP personality. This book is much better than the cheapies or the freebies or the "one chapter" in any of the bigger books like "What Color is Your Parachute?", etc. Well worth $4.99! UPDATE: Sorry I forgot to update this when I finished reading the book. That said, I am not sure there is that much more to be written which I haven't already covered. I've read a lot of published material on the personality types, and ENFPs in particular, but this book is hands-down my favorite ENFP resource out there as it is thorough, comprehensive, affordable and well-written. There are a lot of self-published books out there that make the inner-editor in many of us cringe, and this isn't one of those books. My hope is that all the types get a book as great as this one, as it is a valuable resource. Thanks, Heidi Priebe! Review: Beautiful guide to understanding yourself as an ENFP - The book does a stellar job addressing how ENFPs are naturally wired to think and approach the world. It starts with a nice breakdown of cognitive functions and refers to them often throughout the book for helpful advice. I especially loved the connection between unhealthy ENFPs being manipulative and the Ne-Te loop, as well as the advice for developing all cognitive functions in our stack. I also really liked the positive ENFP affirmations stored in the book, and the relationship advice for each of the 16 types. Heidi Priebe's writing is straightforward yet informative, memorable, and moving. Overall a truly enjoyable and helpful book! I'm so proud to be an ENFP :-D

Beautiful guide to understanding yourself as an ENFP

A survival guide for ENFPs? Yeah--and a great one!
Guides to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) test are almost a dime a dozen. Finding one that has something new or unusual to say is rare. This guide by Heidi Priebe covering one of the 16 types, ENFP, is one-of-a-kind. I've been interested in the MBTI for more than 30 years. A strong ENFP myself, I've read just about everything I can find for personal understanding and betterment (coincidentally, the kind of thing ENFPs eat up). A couple MBTI sites linked to Priebe's _ENFP: The Comprehensive Survival Guide_ and noted that it had unique insights into the actual thought processes of ENFPs, so I bit. After I bought the Kindle version and started to read, I immediately regretted my purchase because it was clear the author was a terrible writer. Every sentence ended with an exclamation point too. Ugh, e-books! Why should I have thought any better? BUT, I then realized I was mired in a foreword by someone else and not by the actual author. Once I got past the abysmal foreword by Moonglow Starchild, or whoever the forgettable foreword writer was, Priebe stepped on stage and everything got great fast. The key to this book (which I will not spoil) is to understand the four processing steps the ENFP brain works through when confronted with everyday life--and how that plays in both normal and stressful situations. These steps pair introversion or extroversion with thinking/feeling or with intuition/sensing in specific cognitive orders. Author Priebe then unpacks the steps and orders to show how ENFPs make sense of the world and what happens when the monkeywrench of stress falls into the works. This cognitive explanation is not something I've encountered in any depth before, and it's a revelation. I found myself misty-eyed in one section because I finally understood WHY I do what I do, and not just the who and what of being an ENFP. Sure, Priebe goes through some of the typical ENFP as friend, lover, parent, worker, and such that you've read in similar books, but the four-step cognition process undergirds it all. That WHY comes through in everything, and that alone justifies purchasing this book. In additions to those mentioned, other topics covered include the following: ENFP at every stage of life Shadow functions Dominant-tertiary loops Mood management & self-care Dealing with conflict Compatability and win-win with other types Enneagram overlaps 25 struggles only an ENFP will understand The Kindle edition runs to 257 pages. Despite that length, the quality of Priebe's breezy writing makes for a swift, smooth read. If I have any beef with the book, it's that it's easy to lose track when the various pairs are tossed around in an explanation. Readers will need to concentrate to follow some unpackings. In addition, a few spots show that while Priebe grasps the occasional discrepancy in MBTI theory, communicating that to readers sometimes gets short shrift. Re-reading helps. Despite its few flaws, _ENFP: The Comprehensive Survival Guide_ manages to be exactly what it claims. If you're hoping to understand yourself (or the ENFP in your life) better and discover what creates success in some situations and an epic fail others, no MBTI book I've read satisfies as much as this one. Great book for a great price. And you're an ENFP, so you're worth it!

Wow, just wow!
A fantastic read that finally described things about myself that were a long time mystery. A book full of powerful insights and is a joy to read. I literally laughed out loud many times in joy (and even shed a few tears). Soooo grateful to the author!

Right - true to ENFP style - I haven't read all of this book yet but my enjoyment of what I have digested so far makes me want to write a positive review right now. I have been a Myers Briggs enthusiast for years and while I already knew much of what is written this did enhance my understanding - particularly of the Cognitive Core - considerably. Years of wondering why I did not completely click with my ENFJ friends despite sharing so many functions, I now understand. Introverted Feeling is a significantly enough different beast to the extraverted version to have impact. etc etc A great AHA moment! There is material in this book that would interest other types - but of course it is ultimately aimed at us ENFPs. I'd also like to add that reading the life stages of an ENFP as they develop their functions rang so true; it was reading my life story. There is pleasure and disgruntlement(!) simultaneously in discovering how insightful Myers Briggs is. I was initially won over by Myers Briggs years ago when it made clear to me why I was a social misfit but reading other ENFPs' words about their own experiences was - well - uplifting. This is a wonderful book for ENFPs and anyone lucky enough to have one in their life!

I think that the term 'sui generis' was brought into existence to define the standard of such kind of books. This book provides you with an insight about your personality, which encompasses each and every aspect of it, the best, the good and the ugly. This book may turn out to be decisive weapon required for the extermination of obscurity surrounding your personality and harnessing your true potential. A must for each and every ENFP who is distraught with his own modus operandi.

Accidentally stumbled upon this book on Amazon and I am so glad I did! Such an interesting, amusing and in depth perspective into understanding everything about being an ENFP. Great quotes, testimonials and information that is very relatable and easy to digest. Loved this book and I am very pleasantly surprised!
