Waterproof as long as it's not in use.
When a plug is inserted in this socket, the lid cannot be shut and water can enter. It's waterproof as long as it's not in use.

When item is not in use it is waterproof, but when I have to plug in, then lid need to lift and purpose of waterproof gets defeated. It is expensive also

OK Product but Overpriced
The product is decent, though switch quality is suspect, let’s see how long it lasts. But above all, it is highly overpriced. I got an anchore single peace surface box with one switch and one socket at ₹110/box. I used (2 of them) that along with a plastic tupperware box...that seems to do just as well and cost me ₹200 overall(with 2 boxes perhaps ₹300). I would say ₹250 is a fair price for this product and not ₹900
