Liam Wong: TO:KY:OO

My son really enjoyed getting this book because he had been in some of the locations on his trips and enjoyed the artwork.

I've been waiting for this book for years and it was well worth the wait. If you are a fan of any of these, you won't be disappointed: urban photos, night photos, street photos, color theory, photojournalism, beauty, science fiction, Tokyo, elements of design, and also (somewhat unexpected) great writing.

Love Liam's work and this book is an excellent collection of his night photography in Tokyo. The book is well constructed with thick and sturdy cover and bindings, smooth paper, and the pages are large enough to really enjoy the detail of the photographs. Don't hesitate - buy it!

It didn't take as long as I thought it would. I loved every page! It is soothing, and exciting to see Tokyo through his eyes because I move to Japan next month. I love how the artist seems to love rain. The colors remind of Vincent van Gogh. There are also some photos that reminded of Final Fantasy 7 remake. Thank you and I recommend this book! I'll buy the Japanese version next. It is worth every penny!

I've been waiting for the chance to buy this book for more than a year, since I've been following Liam Wong's work for some time, at it didn't disappoint at all. Every photograph is an absolute pleasure to look at, and shows real talent and passion. Hope to see his next publication soon!

I purchased the paperback version to save a few dollars and wished I went with the hardcover. This version is a tad flimsy & the spine and cover seem like they were superglued together. It's not the worst I've experienced, but still little disappointing. Also, I'm assuming the hardcover uses higher quality paper. Anyways, I love the imagery and the consistent, yet diverse, tones on display throughout the book. I do wish more commentary or notes were included, but appreciate the imagery alone. It's cool flipping through the pages and looking at all the details in the photos.

Excellent book

Très bon livre, de belles photographies, excellente qualité papier. Par contre, est-ce lors de la livraison, mais le livre reçu bien qu'emballé dans un film plastique est arrivé avec le coin supérieur gauche abimé.

Compré la versión de pasta blanda y todo bien. Será un libro de inspiración para mis proyectos futuros.

I do not share the enthusiastic reviews of this book at all. This is the second book by this photographer that I have purchased here in Amazon, the first one was AFTER DARK (that one was more or less ok). So what about it..When I leafed through this book, I was constantly haunted by the feeling that there was one or two maximum photographs in this book. This feeling arises as a result of the extreme monotony of the photo content. All the pictures are terribly similar to each other, in addition to everything they are repeated (the are puddles with neon lights several times). Having reached the middle, I put the book aside, because I realized that there was no any point in looking at it further. The desire of the author to oversaturate and distort the nature of colors also caused disgust. Everything is so poisonously bright that it ultimately causes nausea. The book is simply poisonous. Both literally and figuratively. The inks used in printing are extremely toxic and cause headaches. Don't waste your money on this book. I recommend spending money on a book by a more recognized author like Saul Leiter, Ernst Haas, etc Carefully study the contents of books before buying them, avoid mistakes. Good luck!
