Will this work with the 44mm Apple Watch 4?

I've had this stand for many years now, but I am having difficulty with my 44mm SS and this stand. The curvature of the back is just slightly too concave for the larger watch and twice now I've the watch not properly charge while it was on the stand. No problems at all with any of my previous 42mm watches.

Are there any issues with not making contact with the larger latest model Apple Watches using the Apple brand charging puck?

It has worked using the Apple charger disc with an Ultra however on an Apple Watch SE 2nd Gen we had issues as the watch would disconnect frequently and reconnect - very annoying
