Introduction to Logic

Wonderful
This was very easy to read. Almost too easy! The exercises after each section helped to expand my understanding beyond whatever miniature understanding I gained from the reading. I even compared it to another logic book that I have (the title escapes me and I don't feel like rummaging through the library to find it either) and the information is consistent throughout and this book even explains the concepts a bit more. I also enjoyed the snippets of background information included in some of the sections.

I like this book
I like this book, the only problem is that the examples are not the same for the United States version. I could not do the homework for my class because of this. Other than that this book was good!

I get to study
I've been waiting to study so yeah I'm happy I got it. I can't say I love to study so saying I love this item would be idiotic. It came on time and it assists me with a better education so 5 stars is plausible. If you read this book you understand my argument being valid and the words I'm using are simply logical. :D

a useful text and a solid introduction
Copi's book has been invaluable to me. He explains the "common core" of logic and analytic philosophy in an understandable way without condescension. He is direct and articulate. However, the book should be used in conjunction with a class on logic (this is as any textbook is meant to be used). I still, three years after my class, turn to this book for information and as a refresher. I even find myself visiting chapters which were not a part of my class on logic as a way to improve my thinking, writing, and understanding. My only complaint is that he is inconsistent with his examples, which makes it difficult to transfer principles from one set of demonstrations to another. Others may find this variety to be interesting, but personally, I need consistency throughout an explanation, at which point I can jettison the examples and apply the principles. When the explanation of principles utilizes a variety of examples, I have difficulty following the explanation. (For example, "Socrates is a mortal" cannot shift to "Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president" until the principles that follow from the assertions are solid in my mind.)Nevertheless, a useful text and a solid introduction. It is not in the least a book to be "sold back" at the end of the semester,

Difficult to understand.
I’m pretty sure only a few people would buy this book for fun. The rest who need to buy this book probably require for a college class. My opinion might be skewed, but let me tell ya somethin. The book is helpful but to a point. I failed the class that required this book mostly due to the “professor” but also due to how I couldn’t comprehend what the book was trying to teach. While it shows the step taken for the questions/problems, it doesn’t explain them well. I would spend hours trying to figure out the changes between Step A and Step B.This is not related to the book but if you’re taking an Intro to Logic class for credits only, I’d advise you change classes. Just a personal opinion.

Swift delivery!
I ordered this book on Thursday and received it on Friday afternoon! It is in great condition with typical wear: bent corners.Other than a light, small coffee stain in the back it looks good.

What was advertised was not what I received
I was highly disappointed in that I specifically ordered the hardcover book as pictured but received the paperback book which does not align with the hardcover book. I requested that the paperback book be switched for the hardcover. I received an email claiming the book was the same and that they would offer a 30% discount. As a student a 30% discount is not helpful if I am unable to pass my class. I will say Amazon did as they said and responded to my concern within 48 hours, which included a weekend day. I responded to the seller but have not heard back.

Still sets the benchmark
Have over the years borrowed the book from different libraries, but decided it deserved a place in own collection. There are others, but this is still the best as it takes you through logic in a most informative way, and explains thoroughly each aspect. But beware: some sellers charge exorbitant for delivery.
