Great little lamp.
I love this lamp. My daughter has ADHD and experiences some sleep issues. A sleep therapist recommended this lamp for her, to be used for 30 minutes every morning to help regulate her natural sleep-wake rhythm. It's a great little lamp, very easy to use!

Easy to use, not paying through the nose for one of those alarms that doesn't work
This doesn't have an alarm, but you can time it for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 mins. I've had expensive sunrise/sadlamp alarms in the past which were just rubbish - you spend all that money and there's some rubbish recording of birds from the 1970s played through speakers on an out-of-tune radio and the sunrise/sunset settings get confused... you get the picture. I suspect the small increments on this very simple quite small sad lamp are so you can use it at work on or a trip in Winter and fit it in in small doses. There's a plastic stand on the back you fold in or out like a picture frame. The lead is short to medium so you have to position it somewhere you won't knock it off and crunch it under your slippers in sleepy mode. but You want to use it first thing in the morning on those grey days we've been having - or dark mornings when you know you have to get up but the body isn't willing. I actually felt some sort of chemical release this morning. I have such trouble in Winter with gloom from lack of light my skepticism is still present about the science of it, but I'm willing to try this (even if it's a placebo effect) alongside walks outdoors, some gym, and restricting caffeine, plus good diet. Reading fiction also reduces anxiety, and banning all social media and internet access first thing means not responding with negative cycles of behaviour at 7am when your cortisol levels are always at their highest (and social media companies know they are, so try to nudge you to 'pick up'). Also good for the mid-afternoon-flag whilst working, but don't forget to drink lots of water throughout the day, as that also fights drowse and aids concentration. In winter your body wants you to hide in a cave, but this will help you stop feeling like you're living in a well during winter months. Two days in, and it's already helping. A padded case would have been good - this company should provide them, for portability. It's also important that you position it high but angled away from your eyes - direct light will likely cause eye-strain. It's also helpful for ambient light on video calls. You might want one that does warmer light for that - but this is meant to simulate cool morning light, which is what research shows we're after. Can i also recommend a high-dose Vitamin D from a local supermarket, and all the other things you know you should be doing?

Alternative use of the lamp
We used this lamp as pre-treatment for our immunohistochemical stainings to photobleach brain slices prior to incubating with antibodies, as it helps reduce autofluorescence. It is a very cheap addition to our protocol and very helpful as it doesn't warm the slices

Cable to short
The lamp itself is fine, it is the wire that I don't like as it is extremely short. I need to buy an extension now

If you suffer with SAD, this is perfect
I work from home, from a dark alcove in a small room with little light. I personally hate the dark winter days and they affect my mood massively. I bought this to see if I could brighten my alcove. I put it on the wall beside me and it immediately made me feel better. I was so pleased that I bought a second one for the opposite wall. They're both just hanging from a nail, they are lightweight and very easy to adjust the settings. By the way, if you want it to stay on continuously rather than any of the other time settings, you can achieve that by hitting the clock button and keep pressing until none of the preset timers are lit up.Highly recommended and decent price.

Alzheimer's Sundowning Help.
The media could not be loaded. This has been an amazing find.My husband has Alzheimer's. Evenings have become increasingly difficult as he felt anxious and agitated as a result of Sundowning. He was experiencing delusions and every argument we ever had was replayed over and over. This has stopped it in its tracks. Early days yet but definitely worth a try if your loved one is troubled by anxiety and restlessness in the evening.doolallytap-21
