Good book of you are starting you fly tying journey. The book illustrates how to tie some historic productive trout flies.

While many "beginners" books give you the basic idea, the information in this marvelous, well-illustrated reference helps you build a foundation of solid technique, which will serve you well in the years to come. It has helped me correct years of poor technique, handed down from several basic tying manuals and trial and error. This book tells you the "Why" as well as the "How"!

As the Librarian for the Buckeye United Fly Fishing Club located in Cincinnati, Ohio I order and use books and videos that the club members request. This was high on the list for the fly tying instructors therefore I bought it for the club.

I have purchased several basic fly tying books and this one is the best place to start, easy to understand, great information on materials to be used and step by step information on how to use them.

Excellent and classic introduction to fly tying

The book Basic Fly Tying: All the Skills and Tools You Need to Get Started is great for the beginner I down loaded this book because I want to get back into tying flies it was a great hobby when I was younger there is nothing like catching a nice trout tith a fly that you tyed yourself

Handles basic methods of fly tying in a detailed manner, and simplifies methods. Has become a constant reference source. Wish I had acquired it much early in my tying experience!
