The other 5% is the slight misfortune that the touchpad doesn't respond to two-finger controls. In a way, that's not the worst result, as I tend to accidentally resize the screen pretty often. Still, being able to scroll by flicking two fingers up/down/side to side... I miss that but I'll get used to it. I typically connect a BT mouse anyway.The install was pretty easy, but I recommend taking a lot of pictures, video, etc. It's a good idea to not end up with spare parts, if you can help it. Important note, there's a little screw that's concealed by a small (maybe 3mm diameter) sticker on the motherboard. If you find that you've removed all the screws you think you've seen, look for that little sticker. You can slightly rotate the board when it's the last screw and the board will pivot around it. Also, don't go hog-wild on stripping every single component and bracket, as some (like the hinges) can remain in place. I think you can just unscrew the heatsink and 'don't' pull it up. That way you won't disturb the thermal paste. The total install took about 90 minutes. While I'm not a computer technician, it's not my first go-round with cracking into this Ideapad, so I do think a reasonable time allotment might be between one to two hours. I've changed the SSD and I've replaced the battery a couple of times.I ordered this replacement set 3 days ago, right after I destroyed my keyboard with a little errant coffee (good way to fry the I O P and the Z X C keys!). Maybe Lenovos prefer decaf??? Anyway, the kitten had already somehow destroyed a few keys, when my back was turned, pulling them up. Cats apparently have something against numerical keys, as he destroyed #s 6-0 (grateful this laptop has separate keypad!). Well, it's fixed, now, or at least 'for' now.I use the heck out of this particular computer and I was really hoping this aftermarket kit would work. It ended up being the best $50.92 I spent this week! I vacillated, between 4 and 5 stars, as I was going to ding it for the touchpad issue, but I could probably salvage the old one and it would become a non-issue. It would still make the keyboard and top surface a major bargain, so... 5 stars it is!

There was a nice conversation with the seller in China, and the casing/keyboard soon came. It was very well packaged, and inside looked completly fresh and shiny in its internals, ready to be used.It's my fault entirely that it's wholly the wrong part - one for a different if similar first-appearance machine. The ad says so by laptop id and presumably the part number; it's just that Amazon put it up as answer to search, and it looked right. But it wasn't, significantly.The picture is correct, and I would have caught this if more careful -- and more likely with less-senior eyesight and a little more patience! Not to order such things late at night would be good...I recommend the seller nicely, for the experience they gave, surely so, and thanks.

Keyboard had paint flaking off in one spot which I can ignore, but the track pad just does not work. I had to open everything to put back the old track pad from the old keyboard, luckily that still worked. I think it’s new old stock and not used, so the broken track pad was a bummer. I had no time for return, though the seller might have honor it.

After watching several youtube clip we found these complete keyboard replacement as the best choice. Otherwise we had to struggle with put back some component which was fix by plastic studs at the risk of doubtful results. With this complete keyboard replacement it was super easy unscrew & screw assembly. It took about two weeks to receive package. Funny part of all this we are acually not using the keyboard anymore since laptop are put in vertical stand and connected external keyboard. But to re-install the laptop for new task we needed functional keyboard to complete the installation.
