Q: How do you clean it? Do you run it under water with shampoo and massage the bristles? I've done that before and ruined by brush

I wouldn't get the wood wet. Putting some water in a shallow pan to just reach the bristles with a gentle soap occasionally should clean the brush. Only wash when absolutely necessary. If used on clean hair, it shouldn't be necessary very often.
