I bought the 24-pack of Series 1 and it's been fun to give the kids a new Pod each weekend. Doesn't take long, but kills half an hour or so and they like to collect the creatures. A bit of a mess, but good fun.

If you buy a case, you very likely will get mostly copies of the same beaker creature. Rip off and very sad for the child opening the packages when child keeps getting the same beaker creature.

My kids were so excited to do these. We gave them out as birthday party favors and had some left over. Very cute little critters inside. The critter is also revealed relatively quickly, within 5 minutes or so, which is good for the little ones. It's like a bath bomb that dissolves in water.
