Best Cleats I Have Owned
I used these for the first time today while ice fishing. Holy baloney they are AWESOME! Over the last two years I had previously purchased 2 different rubber slip-on cleats from different vendors in the $10-12 range and they ended up falling off (which required me searching for them during the course of my travels when I noticed they were missing) or ripping after repeated use. Not so with these. They were comfortable and gave me the traction I needed for the 7 hours I was on the ice. No worries. They stayed snug and I didn't have to adjust them one bit. I wear a size 7M Sorel Women's Alpha Pac XT Boot and the size medium cleats fit wonderfully. As others have said in these reviews, just don't walk on tile or wood floors with them unless you want to slip and fall on your butt (tile floors) or piss someone off (wood floors). I usually change footwear at my fishing site. Plus, they come with a cool storage bag. I highly recommend them.

Great traction on glare ice
I live in MN and wanted to find something I could put on my shoes which would allow me to walk on snow and ice. I adopted a high energy dog who needs his daily walks. The snow and ice can make this dangerous as he could easily pull me over. We finally have enough ice and snow where I could test these out. I was amazed! I am able to walk on glare ice without slipping. My poor dog needs a pair of these as he was sliding all over. I would recommend these to anyone who walks on snowy or icy paths. The spikes dig into the ice to give you traction. I am so glad I purchased these as they have saved me from falling.

Bring pliers
I bought these for hiking around on icy trails this past winter. I wish I could give them a higher rating, because the spikes themselves worked great, but the chains holding them together are very flimsy. Several of the links "broke" on my very first day of hiking. The first few hooks seemed to have just slipped out of their holes and were easy enough to fix, but later on a few more of the links came loose and I had to break out the pliers and bend the little hooks so that they would not slip out again. This kept happening throughout the day and was getting very annoying, and this was not even an intense hike. My boyfriend's cheak yaktrax actually held up better. Next time I am going to splurge on something a little sturdier.

Worked just as good as pricier options!
I was not sure how much faith to place into these microspikes because they were less expensive than most outdoors gear but I needed them at the last minute. After testing them out in the Eastern Sierras this year, I have to say that these microspikes were excellent. I used them to hike over 5 miles of suncupped snow with a 30lb pack and they worked great. My friends had microspikes from higher end outdoors distributors and they had nicer plastic gripping but overall they performed the same as these. I just made sure to wash them and let them dry out afterwards so they wouldn't rust. I'll use them again next time.

Good But Not Great
I bought Katoulah crampons 2 years ago. They were much more expensive this year so I bought the OUTAD - in fact I bought 2 pairs. The spikes keep coming undone and it is very hard to clip them back and tighten them so they stay together. I feel I got what I paid for. The Katoulahs I have I have never had a problem with. The quality of these are just not as good.

Won't slip but can lock your boots together when you walk if you don't keep your feet far enough apart.
Very difficult to get on - needed help from husband but they work. Since putting these on my boots, I have fallen 4 times because the links from one foot will lock on the other foot. My husband has fallen once for the same reason. It isn't always possible to walk with your feet far enough apart to keep from locking the links. This product would be better if the front claws were closer to the inside of the boot. I had to take them off and put on a different product because I have landed on my knees three times and wrenched my back once because of this condition. Sorry, but I won't buy again.

I really like these. They have been incredibly useful on my muddy hikes in Hawaii. I did have an issue with some of the links coming apart. But this was an easy fix with some pliers.

Good for a day hike, don't take on long trips
The quality of the links are lacking. I own a more expensive pair of crampons and the quality of the types of links made and even the rubber grip are evident. You get what you pay for.
