Philips HuePlay Extension Cable, Black, 5m

Das Kabel kam zügig und gut verpackt. Dem schicken Verkaufskarton liegt ein 50x100cm großer Beipackzettel bei, wobei "Zettel" für eine halben Quadratmeter Papier schon untertrieben ist. Auf diesem Pamphlet gibt es Sicherheitshinweise(!) in 25 Sprachen ...wer's braucht(?). Ein deutlich kleiner Zettel beinhaltet das Benutzerhanduch (ohne Quatsch, das steht da wirklich!) für ein 5m langes 2 adriges Kabel mit Hohlstecker. Ein "Benutzerhandbuch für ein ... Kabel ...soso.... Neben den umfangreichen Begleitschreiben gibt es noch besagtes Kabel. Ordentlich verarbeitet d.h. Strom fliesst und die Stecker passen. Bis jetzt 5 Sterne... bis auf... das sagenhaft schlechte Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis!Hue-Liebhaber sind ja von Philips einiges gewohnt und für innovative Ideen die qualitativ gut umgesetzt sind ist man ja bereit auch mal tiefer in die Tasche zu greifen, aber dieses Kabel ist nur ...ein Kabel(!) Nicht innovativ, nicht einmal "besonders" hochwertig (wozu auch?) sondern nur ein stinknormales 5 m langes Kabel aus einer polnischen Kabelfabrik - für Philips jedoch scheint es sich um Goldstaub zu handeln. Ja, ich brauch es ja nicht kaufen. Leider falsch, denn das Kabel an meine Hue-Play(s) ist verdammt kurz und andere Anbieter liefern zwar ähnliche 5m-Kabel für 5,99 (in Worten: FÜNF Euro und NEUNUNDNEUNZIG Cent), jedoch sind die Hohlstecker um 1mm zu klein für die Hue-Hardware. Mist!Also 2 Sterne Abzug für unverschämte Preisgestaltung!

Philips use a proprietary connector on their Hue Play light power leads so you cannot make up your own extension cable if you need the extension light to be further away than the standard 2m. You cannot use your own 2.1 or 2.5mm jacks to make up your own cable and so you are forced into buying Philip's own cable, at extortionate cost.The cable works perfectly and fits snugly, no criticism there at all. But I am marking down two marks for the sheer cost of something that should cost no more than £6 tops.

I bought this to extend a Hue internal light strip which works well. However note that there have been at least two versions of the light strip, I have a light strip bought quite some time ago which can be distinguished by the writing being on the face of the power pack with a model number: S020CM2400083 and two newer models where the writing is on the side of the power pack and have the model number: S020YM2400083. The extension lead does not fit the older model power pack, but does fit the newer model

This is an evil necessity for the Hue Ecosystem from Philips. It doesn’t seem like there are any 3rd party options available or different lengths so I am forced to pay £15 for a 5m extension lead for our hue lights.As they only bundle one adapter with a pair of the hue play lights, unless you want them close together the only other option is to buy two single packs separately as they don’t sell the adaptors.

This is a cable with two standard fittings on each end... so why is it priced as if it were a gold plated beaver?!Dont get me wrong there is absolutely nothing wrong with this, it works as expected and hasn't given me any problems since installation.But there are cheaper alternatives and see no reason to purchase one of those next time rather than the Philips original.Save you money, look for alternatives, there is no "specisl" feature associated with this cable
