PETZLAM'D Carabiners

Most everything I’ve ever tried from Petzl is quality that you can trust with your life. They’re made very well and are quite light weight. I use these carabiners with my Petzl ZigZag tree device and they fit perfectly, as the ZZ is made to fit Petzl biners. The locking is smooth and intuitive. I’m left handed (I only have my left. Was born right, but I Lost my right to an ied in the military) and they’re not quite as nice as I’m sure they are for a right handed person. But still easy to use. There’s a pin at the bottom of the gate that’s a bit sharp that rubs my thumb web. But they’re catered to righty’s and I just have to make it work.

Great carabiner! Very easy to unlock with one hand. Works nicely with a microtrax because it can rotate all the way around inside the opening.

I ordered a petzl carabiner from this seller and got a different carabiner by mistake, they reach out to me and they were very nice and extremely polite and kind to send me the right carabiner and I got it very quick on the mail. The petzl is amazing and I love the way it locks on 3 different ways making my climbing more safe and better peace of mind and also i can use a single hand to unlock it. Thank you

I use carabiners primarily for vertical caving, both for myself and as a trip leader for others. Although I think it’s of paramount importance that everyone doing vertical caving has personal knowledge of how to use their gear, including carabiners, there are situations where more foolproof carabiners such as this would be useful. Some examples includea) rigging (for security, as it can’t inadvertently open)b) theft prevention (since it is an uncommon carabiner and needs a pin to open), andc) inadvertent opening (for carabiners you definitely don’t want to open accidentally, or when used on a beginner or for example a group of scouts).It isn’t fullproof by any means however, as the unlocking pin is simply that, a pin. Any tool thin and long and solid enough could open this, even a pen, or a belt buckle. Something like this with a tiny actual key hole would serve some of these purposes better. As currently designed it can be stolen without the tool and dangerously opened without the tool by someone foolish enough to do so.

I use these bad daddies for everything from rigging choking spar anchors for tree care to setting top rope anchors for rock climbing. I think I have 6 or 8 of them and I’m gonna grab a few more. Be careful using a double action gate for belaying though (watch videos online) but the screw gate version is perfect for that. Either way, Petzl makes some of the nicest life supporting gear on the climbing market.

These work awesome. They're super light, strong, and smooth. The gate is awesome - 3 way gate. I got 3 or 4 of these and use them just for climbing trees. They're the best.

This is one of the carabiners that Petzl recommends for use with the Grigri and Grigri+ belay devices and provides an auto locking function with a ball lock mechanism that is easy to operate with one hand. It has been working great with my Grigri+ I use for indoor climbing.
