At this price you can't beat it. This tape is 100 ft cheaper than most 50. It's very durable and well constructed.

I’m a DIYer, and sometimes you need a tool and maybe you’ll only use it once or twice in your life, so you don’t want to buy the most expensive industrial grade tool if a cheaper one will do. This one is much cheaper than the name brand fish tapes, and I was a little worried when I read in the reviews that the handle fell off. I decided to go for it anyway since I couldn’t justify spending that much on a one-off job. I was able to run this tape through a 70+ foot 3/4” PVC electrical conduit with two 90° turns - one turn a few feet in, and the other near the very end. With a little pushing, and keeping the extension of the cable only a few inches from the main roll, I was able to exert the force needed to make the turns. I needed help to bring the conductors back through the conduit, because one person needs to draw in the fish tape while the other feeds the wire through the conduit. I did the wire feeding while my brother did the fish tape winding. We were successful, but he pulled the handle right off the fish tape roll, just as others had warned. I was a little worried that I would have to chuck the unit out, but there were four screws holding the roll together, and after loosening them, I was able to put the handle back on very easily. After a bit of a struggle, I saw the key instructions printed on the side of the tape roll: “When rewinding, squeeze trigger to ensure a tightly wound roll”. It’s printed in red letters on the red plastic, so it is not easy to see. My brother had not squeezed the trigger when pulling the line back, so the strong, flat steel fish cable pushed its way out and pushed the handle right off the unit. Once I unrolled the whole tape (in my basement), I squeezed the trigger as described and rolled the whole thing back up very easily and quite compactly. It’s in great shape and ready to work for me again if I ever have another buried electrical line project! So, I think it’s really a five-star device, they just need to add some contrast to the instructions so you can see them before you mess it up and push the handle off. Maybe they could print the instructions on a yellow paper and attach it to the unit so that you can’t miss it. I was fully successful in my project, and after a little work, I have a nice tool ready to work for me again.

Amazing value, used in a 60 foot conduit to fish a wire through that was buried underground. Amazed at the ease and how fast it worked. Clasp is lower quality but works very well. No issues with it for the price. Conduit had lots of twists and turns less than 90 degrees and this went through no problem.
