Great for Kayaking & SUP - BEST of Everything
Over the past seven years, my husband and I have kayaked over 1000 miles, but my newfound passion is standup paddleboarding - I was made for it! However, those who do not know me may be surprised to learn that I am not a very good swimmer. In fact, before my husband and I endeavored into water sports, I had a fear of water, stemming from my childhood experiences with swimming lessons. However, I had been bound and determined to overcome that fear because I really wanted to have fun partaking in water sports together.Over the years, I have used various types of lifejackets while kayaking and paddleboarding. But this year, I wanted something that was less constricting and cumbersome. For paddleboarding, many people, my husband included, wear a flotation device that buckles around the waist, which is super small and convenient. Sounds great, right? Well, not necessarily for me because that type of flotation device is manually operated, requiring the wearer to pull the cord to activate the flotation mechanism should they need it when they become immersed in the water. And, it does not provide enough buoyancy for my comfort level. So being that I am still not a great swimmer, I worried that I could find myself in a situation where I possibly would not be able to pull the cord, and then all my fun would be over.Upon continued research, I came across a different type of flotation device that resembles more of a harness. There is a thick flotation pack that rests behind the neck, with two flotation packs that lie on each side of the front chest. There are two wide nylon straps that extend down the back that connect to a waist strap that buckles around in the front. The harness does adjust to accommodate for different waist circumferences, but it does not adjust for different torso heights - one size fits all.For example, the waist strap (where the buckle is) sits about 1.5 inches above my belly button, although I would much prefer to be able to pull it down further so that it clasps below that. As a result, I find myself tugging on it all the time to pull it down, but it does not adjust that direction. So if you have a long torso (which I do not), this will sit even higher on you, which may feel a bit awkward. But because I am much smaller than the average adult, that may be the position where the strap is actually intended to be. Also, this product does take a little breaking in, as the flotation pack behind the neck is very stiff, and pokes outward until it gets worn a few times. This flotation device is great for people who want the best of everything. Not only is it lightweight and unrestricting, but it also offers both a manual and an automatic inflation option. For example, if I fall into the water and become immersed, the device will automatically trigger the flotation mechanism, which is fueled by a CO2 (carbon dioxide) cylinder (these have to be replaced with a new cylinder each time it gets activated). And one unique feature of this particular product is the ‘window’ located on the front bottom right side of the flotation piece - this allows the wearer to see either green or red. The color indicates whether the CO2 mechanism is working. I check the window each time before I put it on. Below the window is a large, plastic yellow handle, which is what the wearer would pull on to manually trigger the inflation mechanism.I have used this flotation device a half dozen times so far this year, for both kayaking and paddleboarding, and I am thoroughly pleased with the comfort, freedom and convenience that it provides. And although I have never fallen off of my paddleboard or tipped over in the kayak, I know that this device will keep me safe.

Bayonet was broken on arrival
It is a fine product, but in poor packaging for shipping purposes. The bayonet is not crush-resistant and mine came detached from the cartridge. Amazon refunded me and I ordered another…the manufacturer should put a stiff cylinder of some sort around the bayonet so it is not danaged in shipment.

Replacement for my Mustang and Hobie self inflatable jackets
This review is for Onyx M-24 In-Sight Rearming Kit for 3F Manual In-Sight Inflatable Life Jackets, 24 gram purchased on 2 August 2022 for $18.74 with free shipping. Replaces old cartridges as expected. Good price compared to other listings. Discharge not tested, so for that reason only 4 instead of 5 stars.

Fits HOBIE!
I had an unexpected lake trip coming up and haven't used this pfd in over a year. Frantically searching for somewhere that had a service kit for my Hobie PFD and no one had it in stock locally. I searched up the kit online but no one could deliver it fast enough. I found this gem and found that it looked similar enough in sizing (skinnier and longer) but it had the specific bayonet fitting. I ordered it with fingers crossed and thankfully it fits! I have yet to actually deploy it to see if it works or not, but I am pretty confident after checking the mechanism.

What started out as a good day to fish
I hope everyone that wears this never ends up like I did yesterday 11.5.2020. I launched my 12 ft fishing boat in a Michigan lake. I was only 100 yards off shore when suddenly my weight shifted and caused my boat to tip and it flipped over. I was in the cold water quicker than I could have imagined. Instantly my life jacket inflated keeping me on the surface. I am 6 foot and 275lbs. This life jacket worked perfectly, I could not believe how firm it becomes when inflated and it kept me buoyant. After yelling hep a man doing yard work met me at the dock and helped me retrieve my boat. This truly is a life saver and if you think you have time to put one on, more than likely you will not. I recommend you buy this based on my personal life saving experience.

Great Life Vest!
I purchased this life vest in February of this year. Wore it on my first day out in the water for 2020. The jacket was so light I didn't even know I still had it on!!! It's very comfortable and is easy accessible, unlike the traditional water skiing life vest. You can fish with the greatest of ease and not have to worry about the vest getting in your way of casting or hook ups. The only con is it's hard to see if the red/green indicator through the visible window where the CO2 cartridge is. I just open up the vest to do a visual myself before going out on the water. Other than that, this life vest is a good investment and if I lost it, I would purchase it all over again! Good bang not only for your buck, but your life as well.

Good cartridges
Had some question about what this would fit the description isn't to clear did some research and found the number 135400-701-999-12 will work in the model 30425, 3045S, C3042S & 3045S. The number on the Co2 cylinder is a match P/N V86140-84204Z, Works with a Halkey-Roberts bayonet assembly. They came in on time and in original blister packs, I'm not going to open them until I need to don't want to damage them, but happy with the product just need to put more information about what they will in on the description.
