Blackwing Two-Step Long Point Pencil Sharpener, Grey, German Steel Blades, Creates Sharp Long Pencil Point, Pack of 1

This sharpener was recommended at an art class. I am using the sharpener to sharpen Prismicolor colored pencils which cannot be put into an electric sharpener. I am pleased that I am able to get a relatively fine point with the sharpener. The barrel that holds the shavings is small. That's the trade off for a small sharpener that I can take into the field.

This is really a precision product. Very well made and sturdy. Easy to use. Previously, I purchased a different pencil hand held sharpener. It was ok but nothing compared to this one. I never used such quality for sketching.

I use it as intended--to sharpen my Blackwing pencils. I love the two-step process: shape the wood; sharpen the graphite. My teen kids love these sharpeners too. They use Blackwing pencils and "whatever they find" pencils with them with no problems. Now go get a great tip protector (check out the 6-pack of leather ones from Hide & Drink) and enjoy these little moments of sharpening for what they are when you use a quality product like this: micro-moments of calm and reflection!

Had an issue with the first one I received, but customer service took care of it quickly. The second one I received works perfectly. I like this sharpener better then the bigger, more expensive one offered by Blackwing.

Sharpens wooden pencils!

I LOVE this 2 step pencil sharpener for my Blackwing pencils! It gives you the perfect point and a wonderful writing experience.

This is a great sharpener! I have many pencil sharpeners and think they all have good and bad sides to them but this one is just good! Really happy I purchased this one!

The dual sharpener holes - one for cutting the wood and the gross shape of the graphite, and one for fine sharpening of the graphite's fine point - work beautifully, especially with some of the fine pencils now available - it had no idea of the possibilities of quality pencils until I recently happened on Blackwings, and this sharpener works perfectly with these pencils ... as do the metal point covers.
