Do you have instructions for this game?

No there are no instructions. It is very easy to put together & each arm is numbers so that how you track the score. My 6 year old grandson & I have a good time playing it. It is great for the development of their small motor skills & eye coordination. And it comes with a nice carry/storage bag.

Why are there rope rings and plastic ones?

I don’t know why. I’m thinking the plastic ones are less flexible so maybe it’s easier to use them. This set is very nice though. I was pleased when I opened it.

Can you use in a pool?

No I wouldn't advise using in pool. Base and poles are all wood. The rings are plastic and would be fine in a pool but the ropes would not be a good idea to use in the pool either.
