CorningWare Classic Square Casserole 5L

Update 5/3/19 This is a cracking piece of kit, its been used a number of times now and has been perfect for casseroling, brazing, curries and browning the meat on the hob prior to making the dishes up. The square shape lends its self well to using on the gas hob (ours is a 900cm) and the capacity large enough to make for the family. I recommend this thoroughly my only reservation is the price which seems to have gone up enormously since we bought the Casserole a few months ago. Original review Replacement for a similar Casserole dish that got broken, early days but this Corning Ware 5Lt has worked well, the shape is also good and it runs on the hob fine. Four stars at present but I will review again later on when we have more experience of it, I suspect it will be up to five stars. AJC

Exactly as advertised! Easy to wash. Fit in microwave, just barely, but it does fit 😂. Wider than I expected. I wish it were deeper and smaller in diameter while keeping the same volume. But that's just my personal preference. The cover is not air tight, has intentionally around 1-2mm gap when full covered, which is nice in my opinion. Air tight would make cooking harder. On second thought, thank god its not fully air tight. Otherwise, if someone unintentionally seal the pot, it would then be nearly impossible to unseal without breaking the lid or body.

Ich bin begeistern von Keramiktöpfen. Mir fehlte noch ein schöner großer Topf für große Ladungen Eintopf zum Beispiel. Dieser Topf hat zwar ein gutes Eigengewicht, habe ihn aber gern gegen den Edelstahl ausgetauscht, weil letzterer viel langsamer aufkochte. Dieser hier ist herrlich schnell und gesundheitlich unbedenklich. Natürlich geht man automatisch mit diesem Topf vorsichtig um, damit er lange erhalten bleibt und keine Schäden durch Unachtsamkeit nimmt. Wäre bei dem stattlichen Preis auch tragisch!
