I love this marcato pasta machine but packaging was terrible.
I love this machine and was thrilled to buy it from Tavola via amazon.ae but was super disappointed when it arrived in an unpadded courier bag & not properly packed safely in a carton or something. It is a fragile item and as a result the box was damaged and torn. The courier bag wasn’t even big enough to cover the machine. I receive books in much better packaging than this was received and i have no doubt this is a seller problem and not amazon.

Just to be clear. Review for Marcato Atlas Wellness 150. In gold tone (why not?!) I read a lot of reviews on Amazon and on line before I got this particular model. The reason I stated the model is, some reviews said the rollers peeled...stainless steel is not a coating, so I think it was a different brand and or model. (There is a brand that is just ATLAS and is not the same at all. Different company entirely! So. Be careful when buying.) I used immediately upon receipt. I was soooo excited. First, I have a kitchen aid mixer. I love it. BUT too heavy to pull out to make only two servings for dinner. Also, the rollers have to be changed out from the flat to a cutting roller. And the are also heavy... I have to stand up to use it because of the height. When making a lot of pasta this is a problem for me personally. But it works very well. BUT I though if I could get a MUCH smaller machine, I could sit down at a table and roll & cut smaller amounts. This is the perfect machine to do that. I have granite countertops and the whatsit would not fit..at all. So tried my table..perfect. Because it is low, you really have to " catch" the pasta as it comes out the back. Otherwise, it hits the base or whatever surface you are working on, and it sticks and you have to re-roll . But I caught on to that quickly. The handle is too long to sit in the middle of a counter or anywhere really. it had to be on the edge so the handle has space to turn. Not insurmountable, just took a few minutes to find the right corner location. I won't get the motor because I have the kitchen aid. At least I don't think I will. the Mercado Atlas is light weight, but sturdy..oh - yes the clamp vise grip....Is snug and secure when used properly. You can roll then cut, just by moving the handle! I love that! The handle attached kinda like a hand mixer, you have to put it in and turn a bit. Mine never fell out. One reviewer said theirs did. I used the recipe in the book and I rolled that amount though the machine. Only took a few minutes longer then the kitchen aid..since I was seated it was fine.

I ordered the light blue color, and it is even prettier in person than in the picture. I decided to buy a pasta machine after making pasta by hand a couple of times. The pasta turned out good, but it took hours to roll and cut by hand. That's where this pasta machine comes in. I learned my bread maker has a pasta dough setting, so I toss in the ingredients, wait 19 minutes, and am then ready to roll and cut. With the Atlas pasta machine, I can roll and cut my batch of pasta in about 30 minutes. This pasta machine is solidly built, and the cutting attachment it comes with works great. The only caveat is that it requires a ledge, and the device to clamp it onto the edge of the counter is not the best. You must have a sufficient ledge to your counter to clamp the device onto, and while the clamp provided to is solid, the way it hooks into the machine is not. I have an old laminate counter top, with a rolled edge. The ledge is only deep enough on one small section of my counter, and is hollow underneath. So it is difficult to clamp the machine on, and is never on quite right, so the machine wobbles a bit. However, with that said, it was well worth the money spent. It works best if you have two people, but can be done individually. Overall, easy to use and works well. I look forward to buying some additional attachments!
