Great product.
Accuracy compares well with 2 other calibrators I have. The 94,104,114 output ranges are very useful for my application. When calibrating mics make sure the mic fits the cavity well. I used 'blue' low sticky tape wrapped around mic to ensure good seal. Great product at great price.

works as needed, specified
this is a good reference standard to test and verify many different microphones’ output so i know where to set levels and add pads or preamps. if it had adapters for different mic diameters i would have rated 5 stars

Long startup time, but accurate results!
Upon first power up, the unit will cycle through the three dB level settings multiple times before it is ready. Just let it do its thing, and then you will have an accurate reading.Upon changing the dB level it takes a few seconds for the unit to calibrate itself to the new dB level, but I have found the results to be very accurate.I love that this unit takes 2 AA batteries rather than the AAA that other testers use. Very happy with the product!

Essential for FOH techs
I bought this for the FOH RTA / Level mic in one of our auditoriums. It seems to work, but I have no access to make comparison to a high dollar calibrator. It seems consistent to itself, and from that we can make sure our room's levels are remaining relatively the same show to show.

Affordable and accurate!
I recently bought an Extech SL510 Class 2 sound level meter and wanted to make sure that the factory pre-calibration was good. This Class 2 calibrator is among the most affordable out there and works well - it fits a 1/2-inch microphone and seems accurate: the SL510 was only 0.1dBA from the 94 dBA tone that the calibrator emitted. I corrected the difference and will probably re-calibrate the sound meter (if necessary) every 3 to 6 months. Given that most calibrators are usually pretty expensive (300+ USD), this one is very affordable and also accurate (judging by the fact that the factory pre-calibrated Extech meter was matching so closely the test signal at 94 dBA, 1 KHz).
