Engaged
My boys and I loved the sense of humor throughout the book. It kept them very much engaged the entire time, all while teaching valuable lessons.

Written with kids in mind, wish I would have ordered it sooner
We watch our 9 & 5+ year old great grandsons. We enjoy reading with them and this was a perfect opportunity to learn more about manners. This book is written with kids in mind, to catch and keep their attention and learn at the same time. Our 9-year-old sat and enjoyed reading, the busy 5+ year old was doing his own thing in the next room; I wasn't sure if he was listening or if he could hear. My granddaughter called later that evening and said our little busy boy was talking about manners and what he should and shouldn't do! LOL! One thing he told her was he had to get a tissue for his nose because it wasn't nice to wipe on his clothes! Gotta love this little guy, he always surprises us! Reading level was more 8–9-year-old and up but was perfect for read to for our almost 6-year-old.

Doesn’t cover enough topics
Doesn’t cover enough topics, plenty more etiquette in this age group to cover.

Fun reading
I bought this for my 7 year old grandson, and when he first saw it was not impressed.Asked him to give it a chance, and we've had lots of fun and laughs and learned some manners too.

Good Manners Are Still Important
Did you know that 8 out of 10 adults say that a lack of manners is a serious problem today? I will certainly say, "I'm one of those 8 out of 10." When I was a pre-teen my mother gave me a book on manners and insisted I read it. That was several years ago and society has changed a lot since then, but knowing how to act right and respect others is still important.Recently, I found this little book, Dude, That's Rude, on Amazon and thought how much fun it would be to review it on my children's book blog. So I ordered it and I wasn't disappointed. It may not be Amy Vanderbilt, but it's "way cool" and gets the good manners point across to children and adults alike. The illustrations alone will hold anyone's attention, and the way good manners are presented by the written word speaks to both pre-teens and teens. It addresses everyday issues like: power words and words that show you might be a clod; how to treat one's family; good school manners; and even mall manners. It discusses just about anything a kid needs to know about social skills.I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and will suggest it to my readers, family members, and friends.

Manners are most important to me!
I got this book for my four-year-old nephew. I think it’s very important to have good manners common courtesy if you will. This book has many things that even at my age I have learned I think every household should have one!!!

Just OK.
I have a 4 year old so I was a bit premature getting this book. It is for older kids, like maybe 8. It does address many of the things kids need to learn but people don't talk about. There are pages on Burps, farts, power words and P.U. words. How to politely decline food that looks yucky More on interrupting, hosting and guesting. Lots of good practical tips. I recommend it for older kids. It's the kind of thing they should read themselves not have a parent read it to them. It is written clear and to the point without a lot of goofy stuff. There are illustrations that add a little zest to the point.
