Possibly the worst game I've ever played!
This game was a total disappointment to me! It felt more or less like dungeon siege one, the graphics may have been slightly better but for a game which is meant to be a blockbuster and compared to the GFX on some of the current MMORPGs they were nothing special, maybe I could even say bland. The opening cut scene itself was a disappointment, it just was as good looking as anything else out there and the narration and storyline felt like they had been thrown together at the last moment to explain why I had to tediously kill monsters for hours on end.The gameplay is very similar to that of DS1 (Dungeon siege 1) infact I can't really think of any gripping changes the equiping, inventory and spellbooks are the same the only addition is a "Talent tree" like system which allows you to gain bonuses in one of the 4 areas (Melee, Ranged Combat magic and Nature magic)In this game you also get to choose your race, I personally felt that because of the bonuses provided and the "Talent tree" system that I was not allowed to develop my charactor in such a unique way as DS1The AI does seem better then DS1 but lets face it that wasn't hard!I don't like the new combat system which requires constant clicking to achieve anything and means that you can't use your group to their maximum effect (Thats how I found it anyway)Thats all really. As you can probably tell I was not impressed in my opinion DS1 > DS2 by miles!

Interesting update
I have always quite liked the Action RPG genre of games - I remember being hooked by Diablo when it first came out and we have had whole spawns of simialr games over the years. When the Dungeion Siege came out I was very impressed both by the quality of the graphics and the polish of the presentation - no load stops when you enter new areas, this WAS revolutionary. The original Dungeon Siege was a highly polished but flawed presentation. And unfortuanetly Dungeion Siege contains most of these flaws. The camera views are too forced - it's pretty much always a top down view - at least the textures have been changed they are rendered in very high detail if you zoom in far enough.People always complain that Dungeion Siege involves too much clicking - well yes it does BUT you can assign actions to your main character now so they actually repond to being attacked and other party members being attacked (as an RSI suffered I find this a massive blessing).I haven't completed the game yet - I think I'm about half way through at present - but it is highly enjoyable. The graphics as mentioned earlier are pretty, the game play is smooth (but I do have a very high spec machine) and the action just romps along. The monsters are pretty much the level of difficuly that you need, i.e. not a complete push over, and the respawing of monsters means that if you wander around for a bit you will continue to find monsters in old areas.I do enjoy this type of game, and I do enjoy looking for the missions and Dungeon Siege 2 IS a good game. However whilst I play it I constantly have the phrase "Follow the yellow brick road" running through my head, if you follow the road you will complete the main quest - but only the main quest.Good enjoyable game with less clicking than you would think 7/10 rounding up to 4 stars.

Disappointing and dull
I was a big fan of Dungeon Seige which had fantastic graphics and a simple interface allowing rapid transition from weapons to spells. The camera angles were good and the action quick. I hoped DS2 would improve upon this!Unfortunately, this is not the case. The graphics are very poor, chunky and with little response to antialiasing graphics cards. The view is third person again, but does not allow sufficient zoom out to view what is happening around the characters. This means continual scrolling to the sides of the screen to see what monster is next up on the never-ending conveyor belt of "click and kill". It certainly isn't roleplaying, and it isn't engaging.A new addition is the skill-tree, similar to that in Diablo or Titan Quest. Well, let's pull no punches, identical to that from Diablo, tacked on to try and make this game more rounded. It does work - the game is improved by having it, but it doesn't make up for all the deficits.Take my advice, either play the demo before you decide to buy, or just buy DS1 for less and get much more!

Dungeon Siege II
Despite several new games over the years the boys return to this one time and time again. Would recommend this for any game enthusiast.

An awful sequel to a great game
When I originally heared about sequel to dungeon siege 2 last year I really were interested to see how they are going to make it even better. After a year of waiting I just downloaded and played the trial version of dungeon siege 2, I have to tell every body this is an awful game, they have taken away all the good about the original game and added these useless features. Let me give you the list of bad features of this game1. In original you had the panel to control and manage your attack, well in the sequel there isn't any panel, and in order for you to attack an enemy you have hold the mouse right click on the target.2. The graphics are poor after four years of working on game the games graphics hasn't changed that much.3. The storyline is poor4. The good thing about the original game was that it was simple (just a bit of fun) now they have changed the game to be as detailed as never winter nights, but they have all they have done add these stupid races that are not particularly different.5. Unfortunately the worse about this game is the LOAD AND SAVE options are gone, and if you die you are in big trouble because the only option is to get revived back to life via this teleport, and in the process of reviving you loss half of your staff and technically you can't go back either. An extremely frustrating process.6. The funniest thing about this game is that magic grows tree YEAP Amazing isn't it , now Manna and Health potions grow on trees.I am only going to give this game 1 star just because of it has the name of the original game, but I don't advice any body buy this game.

Can not install
The required product key that is in the cd box does not work and results in an error message every time I enter it. I can not install the game because of this. The product is useless.

très bon jeu!
SI vous avez aimé le premier, le deuxième garde tout ce qu'il y avait de bon dedans avec un aspect scénaristique plus présent et un système de téléportation très pratique.

Still great after all these years.
I have an Asus Eee pc1005hab and this game looks great and plays well on my little netbook.A LITTLE slowing of framerates is not uncommon when confronting hordes of enemies but not enough to make playing the game tedious. This is hack and slash/RPG at its best.Even though a decade has passed since its release this game continues to provide a great gameplay experience and a rich visual world that pleases the eyes. One of my favorites on my netbook.

May not run on windows 10.
I played this game many years ago and liked it, so I bought it again. The game is so old it is written for specific video cards not made any more. there is a work around for that, but I could not get past the menu to start the game, the mouse quits working. The only way out is through the task manager. I searched the internet to find a work around, nothing worked. It is supposed to work run as windows 7, run as administrator, but not for me. I spent many hours on trying to get this to work on two different computers and finally gave up. I see where some people actually get it to work, it may depend on your hardware.
